The main public buildings and the "rotation" of the cathedral date back to that period, with a new facade opposite the old Palazzo del Podestà.
Today the square is slightly sloping and has a brick pavement.
Piazza Della Cisterna

Piazza della Cisterna is, with the Piazza del Duomo, one of the two most important squares in San Gimignano. A Florence Adventure!
A truly amazing experience! Our tour guide was a lovely lady with curly short hair who’s name I can’t remember atm BUT she’s a GEM!! A true professional guide if we’ve ever met one! Maybe just a little more time in every spot would be perfection! If you take any tour in Florence, make sure this one’s on your list!

The Perfect Way to See Tuscany in One Day
Our host, Barbara, was amazing throughout the entire trip, and our driver, Salvatore, did a fantastic job. The ride was smooth and comfortable from start to finish.
It was incredible being able to visit so many beautiful places in one day, from taking the classic photo “holding up” the Leaning Tower of Pisa to enjoying the stunning scenery and charm of San Gimignano.
Siena was also a beautiful city and somewhere we would definitely love to return to and explore on our own. Unfortunately, the guided tour in Siena was the one disappointing part of the experience. It felt short, rushed, and included quite a bit of rambling. I honestly don’t remember the guide’s name, which is probably for the best.
Overall, I would highly recommend this Tuscany tour. Barbara and Salvatore were fantastic, and getting to experience all of these destinations in one trip was absolutely worth it. My only recommendation would be to skip the guided Siena tour and instead use that time to freely explore the city at your own pace.

Choose another provider!!
There are many tour operators who offer similar Tuscany tours. Do not choose this one!! Staff were rude and unreasonable to deal with.

Tuscany experience tour
It was great to see the town’s that was on the itinerary. The only thing I would add is if we had an extra 15 minutes in each place would’ve been perfect. The other thing is in Pisa, my kids climbed the leaning tower and took a couple of pictures and then we went to the cathedral for maybe 10 minutes. We were rushing to get back to the meeting spot and we’re still five minutes late. An extra 15 or 20 minutes in Pisa would be ideal because if they’re older people they would have a hard time doing everything in the time frame that we were given. If my husband and I were going to climb the tower, we would not have made back in time. We would have been much later.

Great experience
Many thanks to Barbara and team for a wonderful day exploring the Tuscany region in Italy. She was so polite, friendly and full of energy. Her knowledge was exceptional and she made the day very enjoyable. This tour is a great way to see the most of the area without having to do any organising yourself.

Full day Tuscany -Big bus group
Full day! This is a large group tour and a big bus! We did this in July and the heat did dampen our day. Andrea our tour guide was very efficient and our driver John Pierre was great. Short stops at each place. Lunch at the winery was good. You will do a lot of walking simply from the bus into each town, before you do your own exploring at each stop.

A Fantastic Tuscany Experience
It was a very hot day, but I really enjoyed it! We visited 3 beautiful spots and had a wonderful wine tasting experience.
Special thanks to Julia at the restaurant for sharing information about the different wine varieties. It was also a great opportunity to connect with the rest of the tour group during the lunch and wine tasting.
A big thank you to Marina for guiding us throughout the entire day, sharing interesting insights and always being available to provide additional information whenever needed. And many thanks to Massimiliano for getting us there and back safely.

Long, long day but great guide
Barbara was a wonderful tour guide. Be warned, this is a very long day with half the time spent on the bus. It’s a good way to “check the boxes” of seeing Siena, San Gimingnano and Pisa. But afterwards, me and my sister (both 30 years old) and our mom were absolutely beat. Prepare to get at least 20k steps and spend about an hour at each destination.
We wished the tour could have just been to Siena and San Gimingnano. The trip to Pisa was 1hr 40 min there, and an hour 30 min back (nearly 3 hours in the bus to only be there for about an hour- and Pisa left much to be desired apart from getting the tower photo).
If we could do it again, we’d pick a tour that focused on one area (like Siena and San Gimingnano). It was just too long of a day.

Day trip to Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena.
It’s a nice excursion with lots of things to see, but it takes a little extra time in each place, because an hour alone is not enough. Somewhat bad schedule and the guide's not so accessible in asking her things. Also, it would be good for the tour to be done only in English, as valuable time is wasted from the tour when it is done in two languages (we specifically succeeded in English and Spanish). Finally, the driver made us scare sometimes with his way of driving. I don't know if they drive so recklessly in Italy, but on a bus with people it's at least scary. The most beautiful thing it deserved was the tower of Pisa and the visit to the vineyard.
