Around and behind this wonderful Basilica, some of the oldest and most interesting historic cafes are concentrated, frequented by artists, students, and tourists, where we can enjoy the best of coffee culture in Italy.
We will taste four different types of typical squared crispy Roman pizza with various toppings and discover why is a mistake to eat round pizza for lunch in Italy.
We will visit a typical and ancient "Norcineria," a grocery store specializing in the sale of fine cured meats and cheeses, wines, pizza, and other specialties like Porchetta on white pizza, a typical dish to enjoy with aged Pecorino Romano (the king of Roman cheeses), 30-month Parmigiano Reggiani, and a good glass of wine. Very good tour of street food and small restaurants. It was nice to see the neighborhood away from the highly visited and busy places.
We had a wonderful evening evening food tour with Alessandro through the quaint Trastevere neighborhood. Alessandro was very knowledgeable in the area about the food and drink scene, as he was born and raised here. The food was delicious, and he gave us a brief history of each type of food that we enjoyed as we strolled through the neighborhood! He was engaging and kept our kids interest as well as giving a bit of local history about the streets and churches. Highly recommend this tour if you want to experience Roman street food with a real insider!

My tour turned out to be an incredible time because of my guide- Alessandro- who was extremely knowledgeable and gave so many interesting facts about the history of Trastevere along with my food tour. This tour was just great! It was just Alessandro, my wife & I on the tour and over 2 hours we visited loads of mouthwatering spots. All the food was included in the price and everything was delicious: Coffee / Pizza / Aperitivo and Gelato - we were truly spoilt. We were really looking forward to learning more about the neighborhood (Trastavere can get quite touristy quite quickly) but after this tour & armed with a pdf Alessandro sent afterwards we didn’t put a foot wrong. Excellent value & a lot of fun.

We had Alessandro and would highly recommend this tour! We had really struggled to find genuinely local places in room despite a lot of online searches, and Alessandro took us to some great spots that we absolutely wouldn't have found ourselves. He was very knowledgeable and the whole experience was a highlight of our time in Rome and reasonably priced
