Small group walking tour of max 12 people. Discover the hidden gems of Trastevere and the Jewish district. Underground crypts, secrets hiding in plain sight, stories you don't find in the guidebooks. We’ll take a relaxing stroll through the alleyways of Trastevere and discover the hidden gems of this neighborhood. For example, we’ll find a Bernini statue by casually walking inside an empty church. Then we’ll get access from the nuns to the underground crypt and ancient ruins of the church of Santa Cecilia, 5 meters below the street level. We’ll continue to the Tiber island and the Jewish district, where you’ll learn lots of urban legends and local tidbits, that you wouldn’t normally find on a guidebook. As well as learning the ”lasagna” of history (the “layers” of history in Rome) that this area of Rome is. This experience is for you if you don’t want to confine yourself to the obvious landmarks and want to live a less-crowded and more authentic experience of Rome.

In this church we'll discover the first "hidden gem" of this tour: the Blessed Ludovica Albertoni by Bernini
This church was built where once lived one of the most famous saints of Rome: Saint Cecilia. Cecilia has a very interesting and dramatic story. She was a tough woman, and you'll learn of her resilience while we explore the many layers of this "lasagna" of history. After getting special access by the nuns, we'll be free to explore the underground site where we'll find her ancient apartment.
This narrow and beautiful alley is one of the most beautiful and peaceful corners of Rome. As well as being a very rich corner of history and secrets hiding in plain sight, such as the most ancient synagogue of Rome (which today houses a restaurant) and one of the most ancient athletes of Rome
An island in the heart of the river, in the heart of the city. Here you'll discover the place where only the true Romans are born and the bridge where Julius Caesar walked, most ancient in Rome.
This is the Jewish district, also known as "ghetto". In this little and picturesque neighborhood you'll discover the building that inspired the design of the Colosseum, some of the most food destinations of Rome and the story of the Jewish community of Rome, which is the most ancient Jewish community of Europe.

Gem of a tour! Federica was incredible. She really brought the stories to life and had an amazing knowledge. The stops were off the beaten track and things we would have never otherwise discovered. It genuinely was a small group tour, no head sets needed and able to ask any questions you had. I would highly recommend - I only wish we had more time to do other tours offered by this company. Never had a better tour before. FedericaMarrone was an outstandig guide.In a relaxed atmosphere she led the pleasantly small groupto the well-known but also to manyhidden beautiesof the city of Rome. She explained facts in a humourus way and managed to captivate the attention of usthroughout the duration of the tour. She always asked us, if there were any questions about the subject we visited. In addition I must mention that she speaks very good Englishand her pronounciationis accent-free.Taht is very pleasant! Unfortunately we had regularly bad experiences with other guided tours in Rome. We stayed for eight days in Rome and so we booked another two guided tours with her. Whenever we will come back to Rome we will book all the other tours, which we weren't able to book because the lack of time. LVG Walking Tours are highly recomend to book!
Excellent tour getting to know Rome’s hidden history. Also great is the fact that the walking tours are limited to 12. Federica our tour guide was an enthusiastic story teller keeping us all engaged. I would definitely rebook another walking tour with LVG.

Frederica was an excellent guide! She brought us in and out of Trastevere. She made history super interesting and made the place alive! Federica was the best tour leader we have had in ANY country, but especially Rome. The tour group is small so you can really understand what she is saying and you feel her passion for the subject on which she is speaking. She is an excellent speaker and has vast knowledge of Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto. She takes the time to answer your questions and she is wonderfully interactive and super knowledgeable. I was with four people and we all highly highly recommend this fascinating tour. If I could give it 10 stars, I definitely would!
