One of the very best things I’ve done in Efiny Food was delicious

This experience offers a relaxed and welcoming introduction to Scottish food culture through hands-on cooking. Rather than simply watching a demonstration, guests actively prepare traditional dishes themselves, learning practical techniques and working with classic Scottish ingredients such as smoked haddock, local dairy, and buttery shortbread dough. The class takes place in a small-group setting in Leith, one of Edinburgh’s most vibrant food neighbourhoods. Alongside cooking, guests enjoy a curated tasting of Scottish cheeses and share the meal they have created together at the end of the session. The focus is on participation, conversation, and discovering Scotland through its food in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Loved the class-authentic, fun, not too long, lively, enjoyable time!
This is not my first experience cooking at the wee kitchen cookery, each time fun exciting and delicious! I plan on going again as soon as I can and I always make friends there & have such fun! I recommend it to anyone who loves good food 😊👍
Look no further for a truly authentic Scottish experience! Ailsa is the perfect host instructor with exceptional skills and hospitality. Conveniently located to enjoy a pre or post stroll along the Leith Walk. You won’t be even a wee bit disappointed with the Wee Kitchen!
Great cooking course. Lovely instructor and really fun hands-on experience. Will definitely bring back visitors who want to experience some Scottish cooking, or fun to do with friends for a birthday event
We had an amazing time with Niamh. The food is absoloutly delicious!!
This was a fantastic cooking opportunity! We cooked fish soup and shortbread. The instruction was informative and helped me learn more about Scottish cuisine.
Simple but very nice meal of chowder and shortbreads with easy recipes and eaten with a bread and cheese appetizer plate. Great class particularly for newbie cooks. Clean, well organized, cheerful staff, lots of fun!
This class was great! We learned how to make shortbread cookies and a soup.. we we also served coffee/tea. There was a cheese tasting prior to eating what we cooked. I’m not a huge fish lover but the smoked fish in this soup was next level best! It turned out to be an incredibly easy recipe to make in relationship to the flavor. I will keep this recipe and use it for guests. This class started at 10am and created a wonderful lunch experience for our trip. They had a rustic sourdough bread that was served with the soup. Top all that off with a cookie we made with our own hands!
Ailsa was such a wonderful instructor and we had an amazing time cooking a traditional Scottish meal with her! She gets all locally sourced ingredients and supports her fellow small business owners at the same time.
