St. Peter's Basilica, located in the Vatican, is one of the most important places of worship in the Christian world. Built between the 16th and 17th centuries, it stands on the site where, according to tradition, the Apostle Peter was buried. Designed by great artists such as Bramante, Michelangelo, Raphael and Bernini, it is a masterpiece of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Its majestic dome, designed by Michelangelo, dominates the skyline of Rome. In addition to being the spiritual center of Catholicism, the basilica is a place of pilgrimage and a universal symbol of faith.
The Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, located in Rome, is one of the four papal basilicas and the most important dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Founded in the fifth century, it is famous for its beautiful early Christian mosaics, gilded coffered ceiling and majestic central nave. According to tradition, it was built after a miraculous apparition of Our Lady, who indicated the place with a summer snowfall on the Esquiline Hill. The basilica combines early Christian, medieval, Renaissance and Baroque elements, representing an artistic and spiritual masterpiece in the heart of Rome.
The Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano is the cathedral of Rome and the oldest of the four papal basilicas. Founded in the fourth century by Constantine, it is considered the "mother of all the churches in the world". Located on the Lateran Hill, it was for centuries the residence of the popes. The basilica is famous for its imposing Baroque facade, rich interior decorated by great artists and monumental statues of the Apostles. It also houses the papal throne, a symbol of the authority of the Pope as Bishop of Rome.
The Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, located along the Via Ostiense in Rome, is one of the four papal basilicas and stands on the site where the Apostle Paul was buried. Founded in the fourth century by Emperor Constantine, it was rebuilt after a fire in 1823, maintaining the grandiose early Christian style. The interior is characterized by a vast nave with imposing colonnades and splendid apse mosaics. A special feature of the basilica is the series of medallions with portraits of all the popes, from St. Peter to the current pontiff. It is a place of great spirituality and destination of pilgrimages.

Perfecto!! Dina was hands down one of the best tour guides and Roberto was an excellent driver. I am still trying for figure out words for just how wonderful this experience was. My husband and I had a wonderful and memorable tour of all four Basilicas in Rome. Dina and Stefano gave us a private tour and worked very well together. My husband and I wanted to concentrate on more of a faith based tour and we certainly received it by being able to attend mass, receive holy communion and pray as much as we wanted at each church. Dina was extremely professional and very flexible and cater to our interests. She also gave us a very in-depth history of each Basilica and the detailed background of the churches.
