The interiors of these cozy establishments radiate a retro vibe, making you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time to Japan’s Showa era. Visiting Omoide Yokocho also provides an opportunity to interact with locals, allowing you to experience a genuine side of Japanese culture and daily life that you won’t find in typical tourist spots. It’s a place where you can feel the warmth and friendliness that make it so unique.

Hanazono Shrine is a hidden oasis of tranquility located right in the bustling heart of Shinjuku. For foreign travelers, it offers a unique opportunity to experience traditional Japanese spirituality amidst the city’s lively urban setting. Established over 400 years ago, the shrine is dedicated to Inari, the deity of prosperity, and is especially popular among locals who visit to pray for success in business and good fortune. One of Hanazono Shrine’s key attractions is its beautiful red torii gates, which provide a striking contrast to the modern buildings surrounding it. Amazing time with Taro

Did the walking tour with Taro on our first day to see the highlights of Tokyo and it didn't disappoint! He was so knowledgeable and very happy to answer all of our questions. It was great to see places off the beaten track that we otherwise wouldn't know of! Would definitely recommend :)
