Itinerary
A Shinto shrine dedicated to the gods that appear in Japanese mythology, with a history of 1900. Seven buildings in the site of the shrine are designated as important cultural properties designated by the country. "Senbon Torii" where a bright red Torii continues like a tunnel is a must-see!
"Sensoji Temple is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Japan. There are some historical buildings such as the five-story pagoda and the Hozo-mon Gate(Treasure-House Gate) inside the temple grounds."
"A Shinto shrine with a shrine of the beautiful Edo period of time. It is also called Sanjya Gongen, and the Sanjya Festival in May is one of the Edo's three major festivals. In the 7th century, the three brothers of a fisherman who raised the Kannon image of Senso-ji Honzon from the Sumida River and a monk who dedicated the image are enshrined as the three shrines. The shrine is built by the same technology called Gongen-made as Nikko Toshogu."
"The Meiji Jingu Shrine, which was built in 1920, enshrines the Emperor Meiji and the Empress. Many Japanese worshipers and foreign tourists visit this shrine throughout the year. Because it is called a power spot, your fortune may rise. You may see a couple who wears a wedding dress in Japanese clothes."

We chose this tour during our three day. Stay in Tokyo specifically because we are very interested in spirituality and want to learn about Chantelle customs and practices. When we tried to ask specific questions, our guide would just say that Japanese are not religious and they come to the temples just for fun, which clearly was not the case as we could see that people were actually coming to temples to pray. The guy also did not speak English very well. His best use was transferring us on the subways because he knew where to go. We were very disappointed to spend one out of our 2 1/2 days in Tokyo on this tour as the little information we received about history and religion. We already knew from watching videos. I can’t recommend this to her.
My tour guide, Yoshinori, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave a good tour of the Shinto shrines and gave me directions for things to do after the tour. I recommend this tour.
Yoshi was amazing, he was so knowledgable and so fun to go around Tokyo with! I figured out how to navigate the train system because of him :) He's like the grandpa everyone should have.
Great, comprehensive intro to Japanese history. Shrines and temples beautiful. Fringe benefit of learning how to navigate the train and bus system! Guide was very knowledgeable and patient. I felt like I was traveling with an uncle. Lunch was really good.
Kono was great. He showed up and got things started. He explained the stories of each Shrine and etc. Great energy and positive vibe.
