What’s the Story? Peering up in awe at monolithic steel and glass towers, one can’t help but feel small. Capture that feeling in your photographs, juxtaposing tiny human forms against cold and sterile structures. Contrast the artificial and man-made with the organic—hints of nature and human life surrounded by the Tokyo metropolis. What We’ll Shoot We will learn how to create compelling images of architectural elements and the people that populate the city’s concrete environs. You’ll be coached on using composition concepts like leading lines, negative space, and juxtaposition. We’ll practice using these techniques to convey a variety of narratives. Where We’ll Explore Our journey will begin in Shiodome—a district walled in with glass and steel skyscrapers. From here we will head to Ginza, famed for its broad avenues lined with intricate examples of avant-garde architecture. Afterward, we will end up in Yurakucho where we will explore the innards of the monolithic Tokyo International Forum.

Booked the tour due to a long layover, no regrets! The guide was extremely patient, and friendly. I felt in capable hands, learned so much about night photography in general and how to take interesting travel/city shots. He recommended food places in area and helped me with my travels to the city. Really enjoyed it and recommended for single female also.
Charles did a great job explaining how to setup, what to look for and how to adjust the settings for the perfect shot. Overall I learned a lot about exposure, symmetry, and reflections and it was much easier since Charles is fluent in English. I wish I took this tour earlier into my Tokyo trip.

Tokyo is a huge playground for photography and I've always wanted to have the time to take pictures of this megalopolis. I took part in a session (Tokyo Metropolis) with Charles as my guide, and I can't recommend him highly enough. Knowing that I came with my Ricoh GR3 and an IPhone16Pro, he adapted to my setup and showed me the city from another angle. I did the Cyberpunk tour with professional photographer, Lukasz Palka. I learned a ton from Lukasz, especially about street photography since I do much more landscape. Lukasz was an exceptional teacher, had a large number of great locations we visited, and was an excellent tour guide. When I return to Japan I will definitely book another adventure with Lukasz and EYExplore.
