Ticket to Immersive Museum in Chinatown

Loved it but 2nd floor was closed

This is set in the oldest building in china town. Downstairs is an exhibition about Chinese-Canadian pop culture. This was a bit lost on us, probably aimed more at folks from the Chinese community. It seemed very well done and we really wanted to engage with it but we had never heard any of the artists celebrated. Upstairs was a nice exhibition about some of the experiences of the Chinese Canadian community. This was really interesting.

Amazing hidden treasure in the middle of Vancouver Chinatown. Don't let its diminutive front fascia fool you - it's massive inside. The museum is immaculately designed and the exhibits are well-curated. The interactive exhibits in particular are neat and add a wonderful, unique touch to the tour experience. Highly recommended.

Estava passando e me deparei com o museu, fiquei feliz por entrar. Paguei o preço de estudante CAD 12.00, o normal custa uns CAD 15.00 ou 16.00. Fui super bem recebida, me entregaram mapas e segui o percurso. Se não fosse por esses museus, jamais conheceria a história da imigração chinesa para o Canadá e a importância dessa comunidade na construção do país. Me emocionei várias vezes. No museu você encontra documentos históricos, registros e imagens da trágica e cruel realidade chinesa no Canadá. No terceiro andar um lindo museu com móveis originais do primeiro dono do prédio. Vale demais a visita. Destaque pra o atendimento impecável e gentil de todos os funcionários. Além de tudo, você consegue assistir a 2 documentários que são exibidos exclusivamente neste espaço. _______ I stumbled upon the museum while walking by and was happy to go inside. I paid the student price of CAD 12.00, while the regular ticket costs around CAD 15.00 or 16.00. I was warmly welcomed, provided with maps, and followed the exhibition path. If not for museums like this, I would never have learned about the history of Chinese immigration to Canada and the vital role this community played in building the country. It was an emotional experience. The museum showcases historical documents, records, and photos of the tragic and harsh reality faced by Chinese immigrants in Canada. On the third floor, there’s a beautiful exhibit with original furniture from the building’s first owner. It’s absolutely worth the visit. Special mention to the impeccable and kind service from all the staff. On top of that, you can watch two exclusive documentaries shown only in this space.
