Thorsmork Hike Day Tour

AMAZING- what a great tour. I wanted something that felt like we were able to see more of Island and this tour gave me that. First Midgard is great to work with. Everyone is beyond helpful and nice. We did two tours with them and both felt like they were customized just for us. Whatever your preference is they will accommodate. If you are looking for a private tour they will work with you. They absolutely love Iceland and all that it represents and will share that will you. Book with Midgard!

Loved this amazing hike. My husband and I were fortunate to have the hike to ourselves. Chris was a great guide, extremely interesting and knowledgeable about the glaciers. He even pick blueberries for us - delicious. He was very attentive to our abilities and needs, tailoring the hike where necessary. The lunch we purchased from Midgard was delicious and plentiful - we had some of it for an after hike snack. Brownies were fabulous. From booking to check-in to the hike itself, everything was seamless, well organized and the people were all very friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend Midgard Adventure to lead a tour. I would even consider staying at their property in the future.

Thorsmork day was a special experience! Weather was perfect! Our guide, Marjolijn was the ABSOLUTE BEST! This lady really knows what she is doing! She made sure we got to see the most beautiful views of this gorgeous area while also making sure we were safe. She was as informative (if not more so) as any guide I’ve used for other adventure tours and her sense of humor is second to none. She is a tremendous leader and a caring human. Her love for Iceland is apparent and her desire to share it with the world makes her a true asset to the Midgard family.

I went with my friends on this hike. The ride on the super jeep was fun; we crossed several rivers knowing that we were perfectly safe as opposed to some other vehicles we saw along the way. The hike was 11 kilometers and quite challenging, but the scenery was epic and worth it. We saw gorgeous snow capped mountain and blankets of wild flowers. Our guide Lelea (sorry I am not sure the spelling of her name) was capable and knowledgeable about the history and geology of the area. She also spoke Chinese, English, and French to people in our hike group. I bet she can speak several other languages too!

Thorsmork is beautiful and well worth the trip. The hike itself was a nice level of moderate. Our guide Sven was a very good driver and apparently a major safety and rescue guy, and he chose which hike we did to avoid the wind conditions that were blowing up a lot of dust in some areas. He had interesting stories to tell about his experiences, however as a guide he did not offer a lot of information about geology or flora and fauna. Biggest complaint is that Sven should have communicated better about how the overall day would be scheduled, and when a lunch break would happen (which was way too late in the day, after completing two hikes instead of between the two). We lucked out with great weather and a nice group of 7 hikers in total.

An unbelievable day. One hour four wheeling over rivers and gullies through a valley surrounded by volcanoes and glaciers and walked around five miles and climbed 900 feet. We are an active couple in early 60s and the oldest in the group but were able to keep up. Some rock scrambling

Amazing experience on our private guided hike of Thorsmork with Chris. This was our second time on this hike, but due to rain it ended up being completely different but just as magical as the first. Chris' knowledge of Iceland and Thorsmork is exceptional, and he kept the entire group of 7 engaged throughout the day. Despite less than perfect weather conditions, he showed up the most gorgeous scenery in Thorsmork. We all agreed it was our favorite experience on the trip.

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Iceland. The hike was enough adventure to keep things interesting for my avid 18-year-old hiker, but was doable for the rest of our family, as well. Beautiful scenery met us at every turn of the hike. Definitely recommend.

Palmi was an excellent guide! He took us on a hike that he is only able to do at certain times of the year, and it was most definitely special. He was great at allowing folks breathers on the hikes up and down, and in the few scary spots he boosted our confidence so we knew we could make it on our own. The scenery was spectacular - well worth going into Thorsmork for the incredible views, and definitely don't try driving the rivers yourself lol - that's what Midgard and their tours are for!

The tour was very beautiful. The guide was amazing, he shared a lot of knowledge. However, we expected to see more places inland. Instead we had a very long stop at the glacier and a long stop at the Canyon. We think that if these 2 stops were shorter, we could have experienced more nature and get to know more of the special features of the inland.
