Brilliant day out Just needs more shaded areas .. for eating food and for when you are queuing for the rides
Really well organised. Unlike other theme parks the Lines were moving fast despite lots of people in queue. Lots of thrillers. Favourite was hype and collases but the later had really hard harnesses and small seats so quite uncomfortable. SAW another ride was the opposite, such soft cushioning on harness. Kids loved spending time with the grand parents at the amity beach and doing kiddy rides.
It was excellent except on saw because one of my eardrums ruptured because of the air jets inside.
Fantastic time. Bought a two day pass with overnight stay in the shark cabins. Parking and breakfast included in the price which was very good value. Plus fast pass for day two. Hotel was excellent, small but perfect for what we needed, very clean and comfortable with lots of fresh towels, shampoo etc. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style in Vibes in the dome and was perfectly adequate with plenty of choice. The park is amazing fun, clean well presented and well laid out. Will certainly be back.
We arrived at 9.30 and parking was easy (if a bit tight). The queue to get in and through security moved well and soon we were inside waiting for the park to properly open. We picked a base as two of us weren't doing rides and the rest of our group set off on their day. It soon got a lot busier and the ride waits were quite long, but that's normal for school holidays. The only thing that spoiled our day was a group with litter pickers which I was later told were "management". Behind our base was a massive fan which wasn't needed on this day as the weather wasn't hot - in fact it had been spitting with rain. It was about 2pm and the woman walked behind the barrier and switched it on. I asked if that was absolutely necessary and was told bluntly "it may get hot later" and they walked off. We were then left with the loud noise and incredible wind from the fan. Moving our base wasn't an option as our grandson is autistic - he's absolutely fine but one of the things that can trigger him is if you are not where you say you are going to be, even if he's with others. After talking to security and others, we tried to move this very heavy table a little and a kind staff member eventually moved the fan to blow away from us. We still had the noise but at least we weren't in a wind tunnel. Why management go round in a pack of 4 and don't engage with those they are impacting is a question perhaps for "senior management".
A disappointing day....parking was terrible, I got blocked in & couldnt leave when wanted to. Wait for rides was long, expected as summer hols but given false wait times by the staff. Just tell the truth...if its a 2hr wait just say, don't lie and say its only 60 minutes. Staff unhelpful ( most were under 20 ) not there fault I guess, but they had no idea about anything. Definitely won't be returning.
We went on a Thursday in August and got lucky the queues were 60mins or less. The unlimited digital photos was a good value service good mementos for the kids. Park is compact and well laid out and the world class roller coasters are just that.
We have been to Thorpe Park lots of times but this occasion was terrible! Staff were really rude, unhelpful and extremely unfriendly! Queues were ridiculous so only done 4 rides so we gave up with the rides and went to the man made beach for the remainder of the afternoon. Not suitable for disabled guests, even some.of the smaller rides we thought she might have been ok on but she was turned away. I was charged twice for a locker and no one could help me or knew which direction to point me in to get a refund. Very disappointed with today's visit!
If you're rich and can afford a fast pass for all the rides it would be a great day, I am not rich and couldn't afford a pass so just spent hours queuing for a 3 minute ride! Also dont believe the times at the gate every ride ended up being double the wait time from what was advertised! Food and drink was also massively over priced and pretty sh*t with it! Would I go back... yes but only if I win the lottery so I can pay to push yo the front of the queues
Amazing experience, very helpful staff, we were there for a day trip and really enjoyed, wasn't too busy, most rides were open and prompt and well run. All in all great day
