The Original Soho Punk Tour

Great experience. Aidan certainly knew his subject and was very entertaining with his no-filter stories of the origins of Punk Rock and the Sex Pistols. We enjoyed the tour very much and it was topped off with going for a beer with Aidan at a very cool pub after. Well recommended, he's a top bloke.

Aidan has an encyclopedic knowledge of the people, places and music that made up the London punk scene as it was just kicking off. For three hours, he gives you an ultravivid, no-holds-barred glimpse into that world and makes you feel as if you were there. The fact that he ACTUALLY WAS THERE -- yes, really -- gives him the street cred most guides don't have and makes this an absolutely can't-miss tour if you're interested in punk rock or London history. Highly recommended! (The fact that he mocked Bon Jovi (who were playing London when we were there) throughout the tour made me love it even more!)

A brilliant tour! Aiden's knowledge and personal stories brought the times back to life and great to see many 'punk landmarks' in the flesh, so to speak. An enthralling experience and highly recommended.

Aidan talks about the 70s with enthusiasm. The places he shows are very historic and interesting. Highly recommended for every punk fan!

Aiden is an entertaining fellow who lived it, hence knows of what he speaks. Being of the same vintage and having followed the Sex Pistol saga in real time from a distant shore, a lot of the info (but not all) was known to me. However getting to see the actual locations was a hoot. All in all will worth it if you're interested in the period.

I spent nine hours with Aidan! I did the original two hour SOHO Punk tour THEN spent the day with him in Ladbroke and Camden on a Clash pilgrimage. My heart was full and I was whooped, but nothing a little rest didn't cure. This man knows his stuff. If you aren't familiar with him, look him up. From managing bands to having a current radio show, he has been around and walked the walk. He is not for the timid- he speaks his mind, is expressive and the real deal. He is quite passionate about the Sex Pistols and The Clash, but he was sure to talk about many other punk and post-punk bands and performers who played in these areas. He walked us through the very busy streets, passed many now closed spaces, shared the stories of his childhood and what it was like to be a teenager in the time of the Pistols as well as how they became what and who they were with some very influential behind-the-scene influences. From the attire to the personas, it was a lived experience for him. If there are particular people you want to learn about, such as Bauhaus or Bowie, Siouxsie or Billy Idol- he has a story and a space to share. When it came to The Clash (Ladbroke and Camden areas), wow- this tour was amazing! From Strummer's first home he purchased with royalties, to where he squatted as an up and coming musician, where the 101ers played, where White Riot occurred, to the stairs where they debut album was shot and SO MUCH MORE. We even went to the pharmacy where the video for House of Fun by Madness was filmed. Camden is full of historic concert venues and memories, and crowded AF. But, there is a great record Punk store there with very reasonable tees called All Ages Records. Post-tour, he sends more information and history for you to reference your tour. It is well worth your time and money if you want to learn about the true Brit punk scene. It was also 80 degrees, which is not hot for me, but it was humid. Bring your water and be ready to navigate the crowds.

A fantastic walkthrough of the punk scene back in the day. I felt the history as we walked the streets. A must do for any music fan. My wife is a big punk fan, I knew some.. but had no idea the history Aiden talked about. This was my favorite tour. Don’t miss it

This is the second time my wife and I have done this fantastic tour, it’s been 10 years, but it’s great to do it again. Aidan is a hilarious, informative guide, his personal history with living in London in the mid 70s, going to the gigs in venues that may no longer exist is something that I just loved to hear to hear about - nothing beats the personal experience. He also talks about the Stones, the Beatles, the Who and the music of the 60s and early 70s that led to the English punk scene. We have been on many walks and this is easily one of the best. Be warned, the language is colourful, but you’ll be laughing the whole time. Highly recommended.

Brilliant! We discovered more places to visit as a result of the tour and spent the entire day revisiting these areas. Aiden lived the punk life at the time it was all happening so you get a first hand account of the culture. He was also friendly, funny and very welcoming. Would highly recommend for anyone interested in rock music because even though it's specifically punk, it also touched on other bands of other genres who were big at the time. Very interesting. We'll be booking this again if we ever revisit London. Thank you for a great day!
