Description

If we look closely, we find that drugs have played a pivotal role at the heart of every chapter in Berlin’s modern history. This tour traces the path from the 19th century laboratories of Merck through the wild, Golden 1920s, the meth-fueled Blitzkrieg, and the addictions of the Nazi elite. We explore the doping of the GDR and the post-unification Techno revolution that redefined the city’s nights. We will visit the sites that are still standing and the ghosts of those that no longer exist, uncovering the events, the people, and the ideologies that shaped, and were shaped by, Berlin’s (and Germany's) relationship with substances. * Just so we’re on the same page: This is a historical deep-dive. A fascinating way to discover Berlin

Absolutely loved this tour! Aviv offers such a fascinating and original perspective on Berlin’s history, connecting different periods of the city through a subject you would never normally think could tell you so much about Berlin. Aviv is an incredible guide -knowledgeable, engaging, funny, and genuinely passionate about the city and its history. He has a wonderful way of turning historical facts into stories, making even complex topics interesting and easy to follow. We learned, laughed and found ourselves talking about things from the tour long after it was over. If you’re looking for something smart, unusual and genuinely memorable to do in Berlin, I can’t recommend this tour enough!

A guided tour you simply cannot miss!!

An amazing, enriching, and very educational tour by the guide Aviv HaAluf! No matter what question we asked him - he answered everything in detail and with a smile. The locations were excellent from beginning to end. There was a restroom break and after some time a coffee break too... We were all couples, it was great :) Good atmosphere, both humor and deep conversations... In short, Aviv, you are the best, and thank you for an unforgettable experience on our trip here in Berlin :) Highly recommend
