I went paragliding in Rio and had the absolute pleasure of flying with Mahmoud . From start to finish, he was incredibly friendly, professional, and made the whole experience feel safe and exciting. He was super chatty and knowledgeable—not just about paragliding, but also about Rio in general. It felt like getting a mini tour while soaring over one of the most beautiful cities in the world! What really stood out was his honesty and flexibility when it came to the weather. He kept us updated, explained everything clearly, and helped us reschedule to a better day to make sure we got the best possible experience. Couldn’t recommend him more—if you’re thinking about paragliding in Rio, go with him! You won’t regret it.

Mahmoud from Tandemflyrio was excellent! He is very experienced and made my first flight fantastic. He was very friendly and explained the entire process and made the takeoff easy. He took extra time during our flight and we recorded the whole trip! I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Rio!

We had a great experience! Mahmoud was friendly, funny and easygoing throughout. He puts safety first and makes it easy to trust him, and he also has perfect English. Would definitely recommend.

We had a brilliant time in Rio as a family and one of the highlights was paragliding with Mahmoud and his team. Me and my eldest son (15) did it and, if you get the chance to do it, we’d both thoroughly recommend it. Firstly, it was very easy to organise - all over WhatsApp and Mahmoud communicated quickly and comprehensively. Secondly, it was easy to locate the flying club in San Conrado which is easy to reach in an Uber and is a great beach to chill on after paragliding - large, safe with decent bars - definitely worth taking beach stuff and making a morning or day of it. We met Mahmoud, who is a really personable and interesting guy. Very experienced and a previous Brazilian champion. Also, previously the technical director of the flying club who takes safety seriously. We were completely reassured and comfortable. Mahmoud had arranged for another pilot to join us so we could both do it at the same time rather than having to come up and down the mountain. Don’t forget to take your passport for the registration and insurance - they take the formalities seriously. There’s a drive up the mountain to the launch pad which is interesting in itself. San Conrado is a nice part of Rio. You drive through the national park and jungle to get to the launch pad. The launch pad is interesting - lots of people paragliding and hang gliding - all done very safely. Easy instructions on what to do and how to run off the launch pad to take off. A great flight down - takes 10-15 minutes of flight with stunning views. So peaceful - a bit like parasailing but better. Max, my son, even got to have a go on the controls. The whole thing is filmed with a go pro and Mahmoud uploads to your phone at the end of the flight - all included in the flight. So, did it if you can. Really memorable and a nice way to see part of Rio. Can’t recommend Mahmoud any more highly.

Coming from the Philippines with my daughter I wanted her to have a once in a lifetime experience while in Rio De Janeiro and paragliding seemed to be the best way to cap our one week trip. Initially we inquired thru an agency offering paragliding in Rio but when I asked who would be the instructor ( for me to do some background check) the travel agent said it will be known at the day of the fly, which to me sounds dubious. Thank God for leading me to sir Mahmoud who is truly one of the best, most professional, experienced and respected in his field. He was easy to communicate with and put safety as topmost priority. We were supposed to fly on a saturday but he advised to put it off til the next day as the wind is not conducive which to me was impressive that he knows when or when NOT to fly. Further, unlike other travelers who had to wait for many hours or sometimes a whole day just to get a good wind. We waited only for half an hour before Mr. Mahmoud knew it was time to go. Which was very convenient knowing that we had other things to do. The 10 minute ride extended for almost 25 minutes with no extra cost! All the photos and videos turned out to be momentos of what a truly remarkable experience while in Rio! We began at 12 and was already done by 2pm. So guys, if you are in Rio pls pls don't hesitate in booking sir Mahmoud for a once in a lifetime experience of seeing the beauty of Rio up in the sky.
