Viator is cool but tour company is shady

We booked an 8 AM Sunday tour. At 7 AM, we received a call informing us that no tour guide would be available for our 8 AM booking. The only alternative offered was to use Summit tickets at 8 AM and then join the 10 AM tour group. Summit was great and we enjoyed it. However, when we returned for the 10 AM tour, there was no guide. We waited at least 45 minutes. We contacted Viator multiple times, but they said the tour company wasn’t responding. They eventually offered a partial refund of $84. We never got to take the tour and wasted some time from our vacation but at least Viator was responsive and quick to make things right.

Great Tour

Nice tour of Grand Central Station before heading over to One Vanderbilt. A lot of fun on the different floors... lots of great photos and no rushing around. Nice visiting in the later evening.

No view from the Summit

This was a short tour covering Grand Central Station with our guide Lain, followed by an unaccompanied visit to the Vanderbilt Summit. Lain provided us with an interesting overview of the history of the Station. By the time we arrived at the Summit it was overcast and raining. This meant virtually no visibility. Waste of time and money. Be sure of the weather before taking this tour.

extraordinary experience...

extraordinary experience that must be done absolutely, Lynda, a wonderful guide providing a lot of information, has set her translator in motion to translate the tour for us.

Operator response

Lynda sortir son traducteur pour que tout le monde profite pleinement de la visite montre un niveau d'attention et de soin qui fait vraiment la différence! Une expérience à faire absolument, tout est dit. 🌟

Don’t have a fear of...

Don’t have a fear of heights or loud sounds. At the Summit be prepared to wait in line for awhile. .

Operator response

That heads up about heights, loud sounds and the wait at the Summit is exactly the kind of honest practical advice that helps future guests come fully prepared! 🎯
