This adventure exceeded our expectations. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the sport and the love for the dogs. The sled ride was outstanding and just the right length of time.
Snowhook Adventures is an absolutely awesome experience! I first brought family here over the summer and had such a great time that I came back again with friends who were visiting from out of town. It was just as much fun the second time! Before heading out, they give you a really interesting history of dog sledding in Alaska and explain more about the dogs and the sport. Then you get to meet the dogs and, if you want, actually help harness them for the run. The summer dog sled/ATV ride is about 45 minutes and takes you through beautiful wooded trails. They even stop along the way so you can get pictures with the dogs, which makes the experience even more memorable. When you get back, you can help unharness the dogs and take them back to their kennels. I really liked how hands-on the whole experience was instead of just watching from the sidelines. They also offer lunch at the end of the tour if you sign up for it. For the price, this tour is an incredible value and absolutely worth the money. I've already been twice and would happily go again! If you're visiting Alaska or even live here and want a fun, authentic dog sledding experience, I highly recommend Snowhook Adventures. Definitely one of those Alaska experiences you don't want to miss!
As a husky owner, I have always wanted to go dog sledding in Alaska. I think huskies are an amazing breed and seeing Alaskan huskies do the work they love is exhilarating! Our Snowhook dog sledding adventure did not disappoint! The first part of our tour was an education on dog sledding history as well as the Iditarod. The second part was meeting the pups in their kennel and then hitching a ride on a custom-built 8-passenger side-by-side vehicle with a team of dogs training for the race trail! These dogs are truly amazing! They were very excited to go out on the trails! The best part was petting the dogs after the ride and letting them know they did a great job! We also had lunch at the facility which was very convenient since we had a long drive to Denali after our visit. Highly recommend 5/5 stars!!! Thank you Snowhook dogs! Good luck on your Iditarod training!
Had a great time. So glad we did this- it made our Alaskan experience. I would love to come back in the winter.
What an incredible experience! The UTV tour with Jeremiah was the highlight of our day. He was an amazing guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the ride so much fun. Lindsey was wonderful with the dog sledding and did a great job introducing us to the dogs. Highly recommend this tour—it was one of the highlights of our Alaska trip!
Awesome adventure!! We were visiting from Ohio and had a fabulous time!! Katie and Hannah were amazing! They were both very knowledgeable and made our experience enjoyable. They both were very patient with all of our questions. It was such an awesome experience!!
The tour was very well done. Although the group was multiple groups combined for the tour, we broke up into small groups for the actual dog sled experience. Lots of interactions with the dogs, which was awesome. Knowledgeable and skilled team running the show!
What a great experience! We truly loved getting to meet all their dogs and our guide was terrific. We can’t wait to come back to Alaska and book other activities with them.
This was a great experience for our family. All of the staff and the guides at Snowhook Adventure Guides were friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to make the experience for my 69 yr old mom enjoyable by accommodating her mobility needs. Our dog sled guide, Matt, was so informative during our sledding time and we learned a lot about dog sledding. After our sledding, we enjoyed a freshly made hamburger grilled by Patty. It was a chilly, rainy day, but we made the best of it and enjoyed this adventure a lot! I definitely recommend it.
Dogs were amazing and staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. However, the dogs were helped by ATV so it was not a true dog ride
