Description
St. Mark's Basilica is covered in roughly 8,000 square metres of gold-ground mosaic — a Byzantine church built in the ninth century to house the body of an evangelist, decorated for eight hundred years afterwards with whatever Venice brought home from the sea. In one hour, a licensed guide reads the ceiling for you: the Pentecost dome, the Ascension, the Genesis cupola with its week of creation. Express tour of St. Mark's Basilica
30 minutes is a bit short, but Iole knew how to help us discover the basilica from its best angles (religious or architectural) and she showed us the best spots for superb photos. So a big thank you to our super guide Iole who knew how to show patience with a group of French people, some of whom did not speak English.

Para d'Oro Tour
Para d'Oro is a must-see. It's hard to see the beauty, the heritage from the Byzantine Empire. The guide speaks clearly and slowly, thinking about people whose native language is not English. I highly recommend this tour.
