Government House dominates the west end of the Town Plaza, a unique Spanish land use component lying within a National Historic Landmark District. Along coasts, plazas were to begin at the waterfront - to see and to be seen. Since 1598, a government building has stood on this site with a view of the harbor landing, accommodating administrative headquarters and residences of colonial governors appointed by the Crowns of Spain, then Britain, then Spain again. After Spain ceded Florida to the United States in 1821, this current Government House served as a courthouse and briefly as a Capitol of the new Territory of Florida.
Historic park in the center of downtown St. Augustine. The original city plan was built out from this location. It is bordered by The Government House, the Cathedral Basilica, and the Bridge of Lions and Matanzas Bay. Spain's 1573 Law of the Indies, Leyes de los Indies, specified that colonial town plans set aside such a plaza for government, church and public use. Along coasts, plazas were to begin at the waterfront - to see and to be seen.
Housed in the former Ponce de Leon Hotel that was built by Henry Flagler in 1888.
Visit some of our favorite vendors and discover the history of St. Augustine's most famous street.

Constructed over five years (1793–1797), it was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark on April 15, 1970. Its congregation, established in 1565, is the oldest Christian congregation in the contiguous United States.
Just steps from St. Augustine’s historic city gates at St. George Street, the St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine, an institution of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, is dedicated to the first colony of Greek people who came to America in 1768.

We loved this tour! Alex was a fabulous guide. He was so informative and shared great local spots with us. Really glad we spent the morning doing this tour. Also, we really appreciated the cooler to fill with our treats to enjoy later.
BOOK NOW! My husband and I were on our honeymoon and the tours we went on ended up being major highlights of our trip! Russ, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, extraordinarily kind, and one of the best humans we have ever met! We cannot stress enough how wonderful he is! We had a great time on our sweets and History Tour, the history tour, and, most notably, the whiskey and bourbon tour! The whiskey and bourbon tour was particularly amazing! Since this company has incredible relationships with all the restaurants and the St. Augustine Distillery, you get VIP experiences and treatment! Whether or not you currently enjoy whiskey, you will at least appreciate it after this tour! We loved our experience and Russ so much! HIGHLY recommend!!
We enjoyed our Food & History tour with Russ! It was an amazing experience that we will cherish as being part of our Wedding weekend. Russ led us to various establishments to sample some of their best food. I ate Oyster for the first time! Russ was kind and reminded me to have my napkin near in case it did not agree with me (thankfully it was delicious!). My husband truly appreciated the intimate eating & tour setting. He began engaging Russ in conversation. This was a shock to me, as my husband is very quiet and reserved. Russ had an amazing personality that made it easy to partake in conversation, ask questions, and enjoy the tour. Thank you again Russ for the amazing tour! We will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic walking tour with Russ in St. Augustine! He is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the city's history, bringing every stop to life with fascinating stories and local insights. The dad jokes were an added bonus. Some got more groans than laughs, but that's exactly what great dad jokes are supposed to do! 😄 Russ is also a genuinely friendly and approachable guide who made the whole experience feel relaxed and engaging. If you're visiting St. Augustine and want to learn about the city while having a great time, I highly recommend taking a tour with Russ. Thanks again for a wonderful morning!
