Expensive - but we did upgrade to solo snowmobiles so we could both drive. The 2 biggest issues - First - Expect a large group. They say there is 1 guide for 6-12 snowmobiles - which is true. But, the entire group goes at once with however many guides are needed and go in a line on a specific path. We had about 20 snowmobiles and 3 guides. You go out to a specific turn around spot and have more time than necessary to take photos then you return to bus. Second- our super bus had mechanical issues. It took us much longer to get up and back than normal. We had problems with either the engine or transmission starting about 20 minutes into the ride up. We got back about 45 minutes later than planned. We did get same amount of time snowmobiling as advertised- just had quite a bit of extra time getting to and from the base area. Glacier was melting quite a bit - but still a decent ride. Guides were nice. If you’ve never been on a glacier and don’t do much snowmobiling - it’s a fun and easy way to experience being up on the glacier.
The staff were very nice. The drive to the snowmobile site was fun too! This experience was on my mom's bucket list. She is 83, so she brought me along to drive. I had never driven a snowmobile before, so I was nervous, but it was easy. It was a very fun experience that I will remember for a lifetime.
This "adventure" was quite tame. There were about 20 snow machines all in single file that traveled no faster than 5 to 10 mph. If you are looking for some excitement, this is not where you will find it.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not provide the level of excitement you were hoping for. While we love a good adventure, safety is always our absolute highest priority. Because glacier terrain can change rapidly and present hidden hazards like crevasses, we keep our groups in a controlled, single-file formation and maintain a moderate speed to ensure everyone makes it across the ice safely. We appreciate your honest perspective, as it helps future travelers choose the right type of experience for their comfort level. We wish you the best on your future travels and hope your next adventure brings you the adrenaline you are looking for!
The best part of this experience was feeling like you were on another planet. It really felt like you were immersed in Iceland and fully taking it in. The snowmobile was a little tricky to steer but the guides were great and quick to handle any situations. We are glad that we did this excursion!
Thank you so much for the fantastic review! We love hearing that our glacier tour made you feel like you were exploring another planet—that otherworldly landscape is truly what makes Iceland so magical! You are completely right that steering a snowmobile can take a little getting used to, but we are so glad our guides were right there to help you handle it with confidence. Thank you for choosing our excursion, and we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure in the future! Safe travels!
Not worth $720 for 2 people to ride solo on the snowmobile going 10 mph the entire time, if that. We booked this tour thinking the initial total was 2 solo riders. As soon as we got on our own snowmobile, the guide quickly informed us that all of the bookings were passenger rides only. We asked what the upgrade was to ride solo and he said it was an additional 80 USD per person. After the tour, we were charged 200 USD for the solo rides. After reading several reviews, it seems this is a common occurrence. Very underwhelming tour all together unfortunately!! Their customer service was great - quick to respond on adjusting our booking.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sincerely sorry that your experience fell short of your expectations and that you found the tour underwhelming for the price paid. Regarding the pricing discrepancy, we deeply apologize for any confusion or miscommunication that occurred on the glacier. Our standard upgrade from a shared snowmobile to a solo ride is typically a fixed rate, and it is highly concerning to hear that you were quoted one price by your guide and charged a different amount afterward. We take this feedback very seriously and are currently investigating this internally with our team to ensure our on-site pricing information is completely clear and consistent for all guests. We completely understand your frustration regarding the speed of the tour. While we always want our guests to have an exciting ride, our speeds are heavily dictated by glacier safety protocols, weather conditions, and hidden terrain hazards like crevasses. Because safety must remain our absolute highest priority, we operate in a controlled, single-file line. We are glad to hear that our customer service team was quick and helpful in adjusting your booking. Your experience is incredibly important to us, and we appreciate your honesty as it helps us improve. We wish you all the best on your remaining travels.
Save your hard earned money! This is not a fun tour. It is literally a traffic jam on a mountain, and you never even reach above 10 mph. At the beginning your guide tells you how to lean into turns, which you never even get fast enough to have to do. On top of it just not being fun my wife and I hopped on two separate snowmobiles thinking we had each purchased an individual ride. (That’s on us). But we really wanted to each get to drive so we were told it was going to be an extra $80 for us to ride solo. Upon arrival back to base they hit us with a $200 charge for riding separate!!!! Absolutely worst experience, and feel like I was robbed
As mention in the web, snow was expected. Instead we had tour on water and ice. Don’t do it summer..
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are truly sorry that the tour did not meet your expectations and that you were disappointed by the lack of snow. During the summer months, the warmer temperatures naturally melt the top layer of winter snow on the glacier, exposing the raw glacial ice and creating seasonal meltwater streams. While we try to prepare our guests for these changing seasonal conditions on our website, we completely understand your disappointment if you were hoping for a pristine winter snow landscape. We appreciate your honest review, as it helps future summer travelers know exactly what to expect on the ice during the warmer months. We wish you all the best on the rest of your travels.
A very professional team that supervises you perfectly. A beautiful snowmobile ride for the first time for my husband and me, and strong emotions in complete safety. The best!

Superb! We have completed the excursion with snowmobiles, and we are extremely happy. My children and I are happy to have taken this trip. Everything was fantastic. Additionally, I received a lot of help from the guides because at first, I was very scared until I gained confidence thanks to their advice. THANK YOU

We loved the trip and it was a unique experience, especially getting stuck! We felt like we were in safe hands at all times and really enjoyed the changing scenery. The staff were pleasant. I think there was a missed opportunity because there was no information given about the landscape or the glacier, or anything else Icelandic. It is a wonderful way to experience the really rugged parts of Iceland.
Thank you so much for the fantastic review! We are delighted to hear that you loved the trip and that even getting stuck turned into a unique part of your adventure! Our team works hard to ensure you always feel completely safe and secure, no matter what the rugged Icelandic terrain throws our way. We also really appreciate your valuable feedback regarding the lack of commentary. You are entirely right—our glaciers and landscapes have incredible stories to tell, and we missed a great opportunity to share that Icelandic history and geology with you. We are sharing this note with our guiding team immediately so we can weave more educational insights into our upcoming tours. Thank you again for adventuring with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable journey in the future!
