Our guide will meet you at the designated bus stop.
After driving for 1 hour and 15 minutes through stunning landscapes, we will make our first stop to stretch our legs, use the restroom, and buy some snacks.
We will pay a visit to a seal colony that can be seen throughout the whole year.
We will stop at the horse farm for lunch, where you can also see some beautiful horses.
We stop in the old hamlet of Buðir to see one of the few black churches in the country, painted with pitch.
A glacier sits atop the active stratovolcano of the same name that took centre stage in the Jules Verne sci-fi novel, ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’.
Uniquely-formed remnants of ancient basalt volcanic dikes sticking out from the sea.
It is a beautiful pebbled beach, with a series of rocks of mysterious form emerging from the ocean. We'll see the rests of a shipwreck on the beach, as well as big stones which people tried to lift and test their strength in the days of the fishing stations.
With its 463 meters, Kirkjufell (Church Mountain) is one of the most photographed mountains in Iceland, also known as “Arrow Head Mountain” on Game of Thrones.
We will drive by Bersekjahraun lava fields. Created around 4.000 years ago, the lava fields are extremely thick and decorated with beautiful rock formations.
Last stop for a toilet break before we head back to Reykjavik.

Our driver-guide will always stop, get out of the car, and search for you. They won't leave the pick-up point unless they cannot locate you. -If you are staying in downtown Reykjavik and you do not find the name of your hotel in the list, we will need you to use the bus stop designated to your accommodation. These bus stops were created by the city of Reykjavik to limit traffic of buses and larger vehicles in the sometimes narrow streets in the older parts of Reykjavik.

Great overview of the...
Great overview of the peninsula. We lucked out with good weather. Only the glacier was covered by clouds. Leroy was an excellent guide.

Snaefellsnes Peninsula Small Group Tour Experience
The sights covered by the tour were amazing. We learned a lot about Iceland from the driver cum tour guide, Simon Adolf who is very knowledgeable. I would like to commend Simon who went extra mile to help me. He found one of the boot soles in the pebbled area near the beach. He then helped to repair my boots which has the soles detached. Kudos to Simon for his help which allows me to temporarily use the boots for the remaining part of the tour.

Great Tour with Excellent Guide
Leroy was humorous, knowledgeable, and kept us very well informed of what to anticipate throughout the trip. Organization and communication are his strong points. Great Peninsula Tour
This was an excellent tour to see another area of Iceland. It was well paced. Our tour guide Martin did a very good job of explaining the legends and history tied to the places we visited. The lunch at the farm was abundant.

Natural wonders and history all in one day trip.
I highly recommend this day trip. Our guide (“Simon”) was wonderful. The tour combined natural wonders with history. The lunch stop provided an opportunity to see Icelandic horses up close. The food was good!

Spectacular day in Snaefellsnes!
What a great tour with EastWest through the west portion of Iceland. 🇮🇸 Group was small with only 7 others, the vehicle clean and new. The scenery was spectacular, but what made the tour special was how our guide, Simon, took great care to share stories, insights and small details along the way. He joined us as we took in the sights, making us feel as though we were spending the day with a friend. Highly recommend EastWest as a smaller, more personal alternative to the larger tour companies.

Great tour with Leroy!
First and foremost, Leroy was a fantastic tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the areas we were visiting and gave us some interesting history and legend/saga background about the places we visited. He also was very friendly and pleasant to talk to, and happy to answer any questions we had throughout the day. If you do the Snæfellsnes tour, I would recommend trying to sit on the right side of the vehicle, as that will give much better views throughout the day. There is one seat on that side per row, however. I would recommend this tour for anyone who likes scenic places and doesn't mind being in a vehicle for multiple hours.
