Itinerary
The rough and wild lava field of Berserkjahraun makes for a viewing of a quintessential Icelandic landscape. The lavafield was formed over 4000 years ago and features in many of the world-renown marvels of medieval literature, the Icelandic sagas,
This is the most famous mountain in Iceland, together with the close by waterfall Kirkjufellsfoss it is a perfect picture location. Well maintained pathways mean that you can easily wander around the sight and marvel at the natural beauty.
Snæfellsjökull National Park, located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland, is renowned for its stunning landscapes and geological features. Established in 2001, the park is dominated by the Snæfellsjökull volcano, topped by a glacier and famously featured in Jules Verne's *Journey to the Center of the Earth*. The park includes rugged coastlines, lava fields, and diverse flora and fauna, offering hiking trails and breathtaking views. It also contains cultural and historical sites, such as ancient fishing villages and Viking settlements, making it a popular destination for nature and history enthusiasts.
See the black sand beach Djúpalónssandur with it's rich history. Once a popular area for fishing, the sea is now empty as boats have moved elsewhere. All that remains is the wreckage of a British trawler on the black sands, and several 'lifting stones'. These lifting stones would have been used to test the strength of potential fishermen and now you can try and see if you would have made the cut too!
Wonderful rock formation, the rocks are 75 and 61 meters tall. Rising out of the artic ocean these two rock pinnacles of volcanic plugs of basalt are a truly stunning work of nature.
Arnarstapi is a quirky and cute Icelandic fishing village with a rich history dating back to the vikings. Enjoy a breathtaking walk along the coastline with outstanding sea cliffs populated with an unusual variety of seabirds. The area makes the perfect place to take photos and take in the raw beauty of Iceland.
Unlike the other beach on this tour, Djúpalónssandur, this beach has the golden sand more familiar to visitors from overseas. Ytri Tunga is notable more for the seal colonies that can be seen lolling about the rocks just offshore.
Budir Black Church is a striking little church set in a desolate landscape. It´s a popular subject for photographers and you will have a chance to capture if on this short photo stop.

Lovely tour around the Peninsula. Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Lovely guide Kristi, good atmosphere on bus, amazing view. Great experience, highly recommend.
The Snæfellsnes Peninsula full‑day tour was absolutely fantastic. We saw dramatic Kirkjufell mountain, wild seals at Ytri‑Tunga beach, and stunning volcanic landscapes. Our guide was knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting local geology stories. Highly recommend this unforgettable Iceland day trip.
The tour guide and the driver are very nice. We were all happy for the beautiful weather and places we visited. Love it a lot! Thank you!
Great experience , the tour guide has really helpful and teach us a lot about the history of the peninsula will recommend 💯 %
Long drive but you hit a lot of really gorgeous spots. Great for travelers who have limited time in Iceland.
This area of Iceland is not to be missed. Beautiful landscapes! Unfortunately, my husband and I were not able to sit together on this 11 hour tour. Many people were already on the bus when our transfer arrived. Many folks were sitting in the window seats leaving only aisle seats open. I would have appreciated our guide helping folks that book together to sit together. Our guide was not Icelandic and she was as engaged but more like reading from a script. I would not recommend taking a tour on the full size bus that this tour used. The other tours we took were smaller groups on smaller busses and the difference in the overall experience was so much better and worth the extra cost.
Andrea is an excellent guide! She had to deal with a very difficult passenger situation at the start of the trip. She handled it with calm and grace. The tour itself is chock full of must see sites. Its a long tour, but goes fast with frequent stops. I highly recommend.
the guide was so kind and respectful. my sister suffers from motion sickness and he let her sit in his seat and we really apreciate that. the spots are nice but some spots were long and could have been shorter. thanks for the guide for his help!
Guide Vjeran is the best guide I’ve ever met. Knowledgable, kind, service minded and funny. If you ever go to Iceland and get Vjeran as a guide: Congratulations to you! Again, thanks for an amazing day and tour.
