Small-Group Half-Day Tour in Mykonos

Itinerary

60 min

After you have been collected from your pick-up location (your hotel or the cruise-ship port), you will walk with our guide in the labyrinth of the old town among the whitewashed buildings. If you are lucky, find Petros the pelican, the mascot of Mykonos. You will have the time required for taking photographs.

5 min

Further up next to this wonderful area on the hill, you will see the Windmills of Mykonos facing the North. The strong wind Meltemi has helped the locals of the island to mill wheat . On many Cycladic islands, windmills are very common and they are made for the same purpose.

5 min

Every path you take on the island of Mykonos will lead you to the harbor of Alefkadra, where you will have the opportunity to travel far back to the history of the island. Alefkandra is where Little Venice lies. In Little Venice you can admire the endless blue of the Aegean Sea.

5 min

.Αgios Ioannis is a small tourist village in the southwest of the island, 2.5 km from Ornos. It is built in amphitheater and located across from Delos, combining natural beauty with excellent tourist accommodations.

Pass by

As we continue our tour, we will be passing by some of the most distant beaches of Mykonos, named ”Agia Anna” and “Kalo Livadi”,arriving in the village of Ano Mera .

30 min

Passing through the picturesque square of the village, which is bordered with outdoor tavernas and coffee shops, we will offer you a a light snack accompanied with a glass of tsipouro ( distilled Greek Spirit )

30 min

This is a long sandy beach, which, although popular with locals and tourists, still offers plenty of space for yourself. It’s usually split in half, umbrellas and sunbeds on one side, just sand on the other. It offers crystal-clear water and a more reasonably-priced restaurant, when compared to the rest of Mykonos.

Admission included15 min

Arriving at the village of Ano Mera, you will visit the 16th-century cathedral monastery of Panagia Tourliani. It is named after the dome (tourlos) of the church and the blessed Icon of the Virgin Mary.

5 min

The lovely church of Panagia (Virgin Mary) Paraportiani is among the most photographed churches not only in Mykonos but in the whole world. It is located at the entrance of the Kastro neighborhood, right by the sea. Its name (Paraportiani) actually means standing next to the entrance door, meaning that the church was next to the Castle door.

10 min

Agios Ioannis settlement is named after the small church of Saint John that is built on the hill overlooking the beach. It is one of the most privileged places of Mykonos Island because of the stunning view to the sacred island of Delos and some of the best hotels in Mykonos. The order of sites visited may vary

A fun way to explore the island

Superb day picked up directly from our hotel early than expected. We travelled the island in style in a comfy and cool minibus to see the parts we had not seen from our hotel. We were allowed plenty of time to explore at many different spots that the tour was stopping at with no rush whatsoever from our guide. We even got some food and small plates included which was a really nice touch.

One of the best day trips I have ever done - unmissable!

A must-do activity in Mykonos. We travelled around the entire island in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. Our fantastic host was full of fun and informative facts, showing us places only known to locals. Worth every penny. Would not hesitate to recommend this fantastic activity!

Do not do it!

I am trying to figure out how this excursion received 5 stars. We literally visited a place where you sit and look at the back door. There were places on the agenda that we didn’t go to. We even had time left at the end. We asked to go to a restaurant with the remaining time the driver said no. The lunch was an absolute joke food enough for a 10years old kid. Stopped at the beach asked us if we brought clothes to swim but only stayed 15 min. Had a person on our trip with Covid refused to provide her a refund.

Operator response

Dear Lawrence, It is unfortunate to see a review that completely distorts reality, especially when it is used as an extortion tool after failing to bypass platform cancellation policies. Let’s set the record straight with facts: The Contradictory Claims & True Motive: Your group booked for 4 participants but only 3 showed up. At the pickup, you verbally informed our staff that the 4th person couldn’t make it because of a "back injury." Now, in your review, you suddenly claim it was "Covid." Right after the tour, at 15:13, you requested a 25% refund for the no-show. When that was automatically rejected per Viator's same-day cancellation policy, you escalated the matter. Crucially, all 3 remaining participants first fully completed and enjoyed the entire tour, and only after the service was finished did you maliciously demand a full refund for yourselves as well. When you didn't get your way, you fabricated false safety claims to Customer Care and left this 1-star review. Your final sentence reveals your true and only motive: this is purely a retaliatory review because you were denied a last-minute refund. The Reality of Your Premium Experience: Because no other travelers were on board, your group of 3 received a fully upgraded, completely private tour for the price of a small-group excursion. Setting the Facts Straight on the Itinerary & Service: The Locations: You visited every single scheduled destination. The only spot you did not disembark at was the donkey stop, and that was strictly your own group's decision because you didn't want to get off. The "Lunch" & Beer Request: Our tour description clearly outlines that we provide a traditional "light snack and local spirit (tsipouro)," not a full 3-course lunch. Your group completely consumed the snacks and left absolutely nothing behind. When you demanded that our tour guide alter the structured itinerary to transfer you somewhere else just to drink beers, she professionally declined, as our team is required to follow the strict schedule and safety protocols of the tour. The Beach Stop & Staff Tipping: You were given the scheduled time at Agrari Beach, where you explicitly told our guide how much you loved the beach and praised our driver, Chris. Most importantly, at the end of the tour, your group left monetary tips for both the tour guide and the driver. Leaving tips for the staff completely contradicts your fabricated narrative about feeling "unsafe" or dissatisfied. People who genuinely feel unsafe do not reward the staff with tips at the end of the service. We take great pride in our 5-star reputation, our professional guides, and our drivers. We will not tolerate defamation or bad-faith reviews used as leverage for financial coercion. Viator has already been provided with the full log and timeline of your contradictory claims. We wish you a safe journey back.

Great tour

Such a fun tour with the adorable Renata. She was extremely personable and ensured we all had a great time. She was very knowledgeable, sharing stories and the history of Mykonos. We stopped to visit a 16th-century monastery, had a light lunch with a small glass of tsipouro, picked up pastries at the oldest bakery in Mykonos Town and had drinks at a beach bar. She gave us many photo opportunities and assisted with taking our photos throughout the tour including the Windmills and beautiful Little Venice. She even brought carrots for us to feed a donkey. A truly memorable experience of Mykonos. Highly recommended.

Great for an overall gist of the island and going where the cruises cant go!

Doing a small group tour was definitely quite a change from some of our other tours with large buses, etc. Doing the small group tour in a small van also allowed us to go some places the larger buses couldn't go. We left the tour really feeling like we got a good overview of the city We were met directly outside the cruise port with our guide holding up a sign for us. Our guide (shoot, sorry I can't remember her name) really seemed to have a true love for mykonos, she wasn't just there doing a job and then going back home, she was from here and really cared about it. We got to make quite a few stops at various points that none of hte other cruise visitors got to see, including some free time on one of the sandy beaches (yes we got in at least enough to drop our toes and feel the water), a restaurant for a delicious snack and drink, several scenic spots for photos, and even feeding a donkey and emu with some carrots they'd brought. Finished the tour with a brief exploration of the windmills and the main city itself which we continued to explore after the tour was over but before heading back to the ship. Overall would definitely recommend the tour if you're wanting a different experience from what the cruise line had to offer, and get an overall experience of mykonos.
