The whole tour seemed a bit crowded and haphazard but then this is Italy, after all. The guide spoke good English and was very knowledgeable. It was fascinating to watch the stage crew set up for the evening performance, adjusting the huge stage to varying heights. One thing I learned was that some seats have an extremely limited (or even no) view of the stage. Caveat emptor. All in all, a good way to spend an hour in the city

An excellent tour with a cheerful and lucid lady guide who spoke perfect English. Well worth whatever it was we paid, which I cannot remember offhand. And you don't have to be an opera buff to appreciate the building (humdrum outside, magnificent inside), its function, its history and its place in Italian culture. Peter Jackson

Scala is historic opera I have watch recordings. The interior beauty is stunning. Guide only knew about some musicians and not other major stars. Museum was a random collection of oddities.
