Had the most incredible experience snorkeling the Silfra Fissure!! It was truly amazing and our guide Nail was beyond fantastic and went out of her way to get the best pictures of me and my son together! It is definitely a “don’t miss” experience.
Hi there, a guide who goes out of her way to get photos of you and your son together knows those are the shots that end up framed. Thank you for joining us! Arctic Adventures Team
Fantastic experience worth every penny. Huge thanks to Flor for being an amaizing guide!
Hi Daniel, glad the day justified every penny. An amazing guide is what turns a good swim into a fantastic one. Silfra does the rest. Arctic Adventures Team
Well-organized, exciting activity. Helpful guides, equipment keeps you warm and safe. The fissure is beautiful. Not scary.
Marcelle was an awesome guide! Knowledgeable, supportive, caring and funny. Good kit and well organised. Go with at least half an hour to spare as parking is quite busy and it's a ten min walk back to the start point
Hi Sarah, glad the adventure was worth it. Arriving with time to spare is smart advice, a relaxed start makes everything that follows easier to enjoy. A guide who's caring and funny is what keeps the energy right once you're there. Arctic Adventures Team
This was experience was the shining star of our trip to Iceland. Aleks was a great guide, patient, well experienced and best of all fun. We arrived a little late due to needing to acquire thermal layers, but they were very understanding and got us quickly setup and in the water. Afterwards we were pleased to find our photos and Aleks took some really great photos. Wish we had time to do this again, as I think this is one of those once in a lifetime experiences worth doing twice :)
Hi there, the shining star of the whole Iceland trip is a title with heavy competition. A patient, fun guide who takes great photos on top of everything else is someone doing the full job well. Arctic Adventures Team
Snorkeling in the fissure was fantastic!! Yes, the water is cold, but very manageable. My hands got wet and cold, but not my feet (with two pairs of wool socks on). We went a few days after the total eclipse on Aug. 12, 2026 so there were a lot of people visiting Reykjavik. We waited about an hour to get in the water. Once in it was so cool! It would be good if you’re comfortable with snorkeling so you can enjoy what you’re seeing. But I enjoyed it very much and I’ve only snorkeled a few times. I really loved the part at the end where they let you explore the area right next to the exit stairs for about 10 minutes. We arranged to be picked up at a bus stop that was listed on the Arctic Adventures site. It worked well. And our guide took pictures and we got a link to them right away. Free!
Hi Suzy, thanks for this. The practical tips on socks, snorkeling comfort, and the bus stop pickup are genuinely useful for anyone reading before their booking. Glad the eclipse crowds didn't take the shine off the day. Arctic Adventures Team
It’s quite intense. Beautiful, but intense. Best to go in the morning, to avoid crowds. Our guide was very sweet. We were the last two from a bigger group, so we kinda got a private tour four ourselves. It was nice! The weather was very good as well!
There are things you have to do in life… this is one of them!! And if I, at 58 years old with a humerus fractured 8 months ago with a plate and 10 screws, could do it… anyone who wants to can!! And I simply enjoyed it!! Whatever they tell you falls short!!
Fantastic experience, definitely worth going and experiencing nature at its finest. Well organised and very safe.
Hi David, really glad the snorkeling delivered. Definitely worth going is all the encouragement anyone on the fence needs to read. Arctic Adventures Team
