Select a departure time from Reykjavik that best suits your schedule and travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan to Thingvellir National Park. Receive a fascinating introducing to the UNESCO World Heritage site from your certified guide, and hear all about the mystifying Silfra fissure, a natural rift in the earth‘s crust caused by the force of nature.
Upon arrival to the park, don your dry suit and snorkel and prepare to plunge into the crystalline depths of Silfra fissure. Listen to a comprehensive safety briefing and then descend to discover a mesmerizing underwater tabelau. Gae at a ravine that stretches some 82 feet (25 meters) below the water‘s surface and then follow your guide to some of the fissure‘s most scenic spots. Glide effortlessly between the American and European continents and see jagged rocks and gaping voids that lead to the molten core of planet Earth

- Glasses cannot be worn under the goggles. Please bring contact lenses if required.
- Pregnant women are unfortunately unable to participate due to the risk of cold water entering the suit.
- Medical issues outlined in our handbook require doctors approval to join the tour. Some conditions mean guests cannot participate.

Don’t miss the Silfra Fissure!
Had the most incredible experience snorkeling the Silfra Fissure!! It was truly amazing and our guide Nail was beyond fantastic and went out of her way to get the best pictures of me and my son together! It is definitely a “don’t miss” experience.

A great adventure not to be missed
Marcelle was an awesome guide! Knowledgeable, supportive, caring and funny. Good kit and well organised. Go with at least half an hour to spare as parking is quite busy and it's a ten min walk back to the start point

Silfra Fissure Snorkeling was an amazing experience thanks to our guide Aleks
This was experience was the shining star of our trip to Iceland. Aleks was a great guide, patient, well experienced and best of all fun. We arrived a little late due to needing to acquire thermal layers, but they were very understanding and got us quickly setup and in the water. Afterwards we were pleased to find our photos and Aleks took some really great photos. Wish we had time to do this again, as I think this is one of those once in a lifetime experiences worth doing twice :)

So cool!
Snorkeling in the fissure was fantastic!! Yes, the water is cold, but very manageable. My hands got wet and cold, but not my feet (with two pairs of wool socks on). We went a few days after the total eclipse on Aug. 12, 2026 so there were a lot of people visiting Reykjavik. We waited about an hour to get in the water. Once in it was so cool! It would be good if you’re comfortable with snorkeling so you can enjoy what you’re seeing. But I enjoyed it very much and I’ve only snorkeled a few times. I really loved the part at the end where they let you explore the area right next to the exit stairs for about 10 minutes. We arranged to be picked up at a bus stop that was listed on the Arctic Adventures site. It worked well. And our guide took pictures and we got a link to them right away. Free!

It’s quite intense....
It’s quite intense. Beautiful, but intense. Best to go in the morning, to avoid crowds. Our guide was very sweet. We were the last two from a bigger group, so we kinda got a private tour four ourselves. It was nice! The weather was very good as well!

There are things you have to do in life… this is one of them!! And if I, at 58 years old with a humerus fractured 8 months ago with a plate and 10 screws, could do it… anyone who wants to can!! And I simply enjoyed it!! Whatever they tell you falls short!!
