Really fun morning with Luca who was an excellent chef and host. We enjoyed making pasta, parmigiana, salting fish, and swordfish rolls. Lovely fruit, bread, cheese and wine platter during the break. The food was cooked and we had the chance to try all the dishes we made. A great way to spend the morning and make your own lunch.
We did this experience with parents and 14 and 16 yr olds. The overall experience was fun, however, we were very disappointed in the food. The food we made required a lot of “hands” directly on the food (no gloves) and then when we received the food no one got the food they actually made so between the 25 people in the class everyone got random food - which made it hard to eat. Also all the dishes seemed undercooked. We’ve done cooking classes before in Italy and the quality of this one was disappointing.
So much fun, chef was extremely funny and a great time! You learn how to make multiple dishes and the wine provided was great too!
This cooking class was incredible. It took place at a restaurant that was open and pretty busy, so it was really cool to get to be in the kitchen and watch the chefs work. On the night we went, we got a private experience with our chef while everyone else did the pizza and pasta class. Definitely do the cooking class, and do NOT eat before coming. We made a huge amount of food and a lot of different dishes, which we got the recipes for afterward. Paolo was so much fun to learn from - very charismatic, funny, and knowledgable. My only regret is that our schedule didn't allow us to come in the morning for the class since we would have been able to go to the market as part of the experience. Other than that, I would highly recommend this activity.
Excellent instruction and a great way to spend learning about local cuisine
10/10 - our group had children to seasoned cooking experience and everyone had fun! Only negative thing to say is it went by too fast and we wish we could have stayed longer. Giovanni and crew were amazing and helped shape the whole experience, from back stories about Sicily and cuisine to helping prep the meals. Fresh vegetables, fish, wine and cannoli.
Excellent. Great chef, very friendly and informative. Lovely people. Fantastic food. Learnt a lot and had a great time.
If you want an authentic Sicilian cooking lesson, this is it!! It was very well organized and our instructor, Luca, was awesome!! It was really fun and informative! The class exceeded our expectations, a truly great experience!!!
It was everything it was touted to be. A trip to a fresh food market with explanations of what vegetables were used for which dishes. Back at the restaurant, we made pasta, something akin to eggplant lasagne, fish baked in crusted sea salt and fish rolls that were grilled on skewers. Part way through we took a break to enjoy different cheeses, breads, meats (which I didn't eat, but my husband liked) and fruits. At the end, we all sat and ate a delicious feast! The entire group was from vastly different areas of the world and very friendly. Paolo was the head instructor/chef. He likes to make rather coarse comments and sexual innuendo, but was very kind, patient and attentive. Antony and Annalisa also spoke excellent English and were very knowledgeable and skilled. I highly recommend this class!
We loved this cooking class! Our chef kept us all engaged and we all enjoyed ourselves. The class had participants from 10 to 90 and everyone learned, participated and had fun!
