Super fun experience. Learned so much about city, culture, and food.

Dinner happens at the pork BBQ restaurant featured on "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown" by the same team who took him there. Charcoal-grilled pork and aged kimchi are the whole point. Your host walks you through BBQ and drinking etiquette while you take in the atmosphere of a spot that's stayed exactly as gritty and good as it was on TV. From there, you'll pass through a pigs' feet market and a pancake market before ending the night in a classic Korean pub, enjoying pancakes and other pub grub while getting a crash course on traditional Korean beverages. Upgrade to the Three Stops option for a final stop at an old-school fried chicken pub, crispy chicken and cold beer to close out the night. All food and drink (within reason) are included in the price. ✅ Solo-friendly | ✅ Female traveler-friendly | ✅ LGBTQ+ friendly

Featured on "Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain," this is a local Korean BBQ stop that specializes in a unique specialty, Mapo-style Galmegisal. It's pork skirt steak grilled over charcoals with a moat of egg surrounding it.
We load up on savory Korean pancakes and sit down at the market pub for a crash course in Korean alcohol.

Super fun experience. Learned so much about city, culture, and food.
We enjoyed a great evening Ron, starting with Korean pork barbecue and moving on to fried chicken and beer. The food was delicious and Ron was very good company answering all our questions about Korean food and culture.
Fantastic personal tour with our guide, Young. She was fun and showed us how to navigate Korean BBQ like a local. She also shared many traditions and cultural customs. This experience made us confident exploring more on our own. The metro meeting location was convenient and easy to get to on the metro. Recommend you come hungry.
If you want to truly experience Korean life as a local, this is the tour for you! We tried some of the best and unique Korean foods while sharing so many laughs and stories. Joe was so personable and fun and really helped make this experience to be the highlight of our trip! Highly recommend!!
One of the best food tours I’ve ever been on! I’m a tour guide myself and Joe was a joy to hangout with. Friendly, knowledgeable, passionate, easy going, and fun!! Would recommend to anyone visiting for even just one day!!
What a night, what an experience. I arrived at the meeting point slightly flustered as I'd never used a subway before. Within a few seconds of meeting Jeff I knew I was in great hands, and then to find our first stop is where a chef I have admired for ever - Anthony Bourdain had actually eaten at the same restaurant. Jeff explained everything he was doing when preparing the Korean bbq and the reasons and history behind the process. Absolutely devine, the food exceptional and Jeff very kindly sent me a list of a few foods I should try while im still here. 100% recommend Jeff and this tour, 10/10 rating from me, a solo traveller....cheers Lyn
Your first subway ride ending at a table Anthony Bourdain once sat at is a strong opening to a Seoul trip, Lyn. Jeff treats the grill like a classroom, so you get the why behind the flipping and cutting along with the meat, and the follow-up list is him unable to stop teaching. Work through that list and thanks for the kind words.
We booked this trip for our first night in Seoul when we got in at 10am. I was feeling pretty rough from jet lag and we were a bit late but the night was fantastic and I’m extremely glad we booked. Jeff was friendly and knowledgeable not only about the food but also the culture and history (do you know why the chopsticks are flat? Do the tour and find out!). The kbbq was amazing Korean barbecue and the fried chicken and beer was perfection; we really enjoyed the atmosphere in both places and Jeff’s company, it is a strong recommend to anyone visiting who wants to go to some authentic restaurants and learn more about the cuisine and food/drink culture. Jeff was the perfect host and also an amazing local - we struggled getting our travel cards and he very patiently helped us at the end of the tour getting them which was a bit of a saga and he didn’t need to help, but absolute legend worked it out for us!
Jet lag and a rough start make it even better that the night turned around, glad Jeff's company pulled it off. Sticking around to sort out the travel cards after the tour was already done says a lot about how he treats people, that's well beyond the job description. Good luck finding out about the chopsticks if you haven't already.
Great experience, tour guide Jeff was funny and informative. 10/10 would recommend and attend again and again. Thanks Jeff for an amazing time!
Thanks for the recommend. Funny and informative is a good combination for a night that's really about the conversation as much as the food, glad Jeff delivered on both.
Jeff gave us such a great tour and experience - the food, the guidance, the cultural immersion. An absolute must!
"Came as strangers, left as friends" is basically the mission statement for that tour, so thank you for that headline. Sounds like Jeff hit the food, the culture, and the group dynamic all in one night.
This tour was the highlight of my entire trip to Seoul. Jeff was incredible at bringing the full sense of Korean culture and social dynamics into the experience. It wasn’t just about the food;it was about the people and the history. Highly recommend!
What a compliment. Jeff is at his best when the conversation around the table becomes as important as what’s on the grill. Korean BBQ makes a lot more sense once you understand the social rules behind it, and it sounds like he gave you the full picture. Thanks for spending the evening with us, Janine!
