This activity has been designed by a local ‘expert’, who has created a fun experience that takes you to some of the town’s highlights and the lesser-known places, away from all the tourists. The puzzles are designed to help you experience the place from a different perspective – using landmarks, murals, statues etc - and you’ll even learn some ‘fun facts’ along the way. The self guided aspect of this activity means that you can rush through as fast as you like or stop for a drink or something to eat as you like. The app remembers your progress and even allows you to complete your adventure another day. We aim to strike a fun balance between challenging puzzles, a fun outing with friends and family and a pleasant walk around outside.

Excellent. Have been visiting Alvor for 10 years and still saw things I hadn’t before. 2 adults and 10 year old. Everyone enjoyed and had fun! Used Revpoints and this was a free experience for us. Definitely recommend

We enjoyed our hunt today in and around Alvor. Sometimes the app wasnt recognising how close we were to the clue but we got there in the end. You need a good signal on your mobile too. Overall good fun. Great value for money. We saw some new areas of Alvor too. Would recommend a few more landmarks/points of interest to bolster the hunt, which will also educate us more about Alvor.. Hi Brendan. Thanks for the constructive feedback. It’s really appreciated. In relation to the GPS navigation, its accuracy depends on the device and the location - some phones get a GPS signal better than others, while narrow streets and high buildings also impact the accuracy and speed that we get a reading. We have tried to counteract any potential GPS issues by also describing the clue location and there is also a ‘directions’ help option which shows you the location on Google Maps – so you’re never ‘stuck’ and unable to progress. We’re really pleased to hear that you thought it was a fun experience. We try to strike a balance between fun and educational with our Hunts. The emphasis is always on the puzzles, but we will take a look at our ‘fun facts’ to see what other points of interest we could include.
This informative treasure trail really had us looking around at different parts of the town and interesting buildings that we hadn’t seen on our previous visits to Alvor. I liked that you were able to do it at a leisurely pace and we even stopped for lunch partway through and continued afterwards. Great fun. Planning another.

This was a lot of fun. Be warned that the clues have some variable difficulty ranging from very easy to not ! Still a fun way to spend a couple of hours and took us parts of Alvor we wouldn’t previously have visited

We have just completed this treasure hunt which we thoroughly enjoyed. It took us to parts of Alvor we possibly would never have seen. Everything worked really well apart from one of the clues which we questioned the answer.... Well done on creating a fun thing to do in Alvor. Would certainly recommend.

You were absolutely right! We check and update our Hunts regularly because signs and landmarks do change. In this case, a new tourist office had opened and a new sign put up. Hey we booked an adventure hunt for our kid 9 birthday. The tour operators helped us amazingly with all questions and set up the hunt so we could easily do 2-3 groups. Always one group was accompanied by one adult so we could help them on the harder hints. i highly recommend the Adventure hunt, as you move with the kids and the kids will have a chance to discover things in Lagos which you pass everyday but not recognize. Thumbs up for the adventure hunt.

Firstly, this is a great idea and even though we had been to Alvor a few times before, it made us walk into areas of the town we had never seen before which was fantastic. It was easy to pay and download the app and the first clue or two were fine. Alas, we misinterpreted one of the early clues which took us the wrong direction and some clues we just could not find at all. This dented our confidence in some of the clues and we also noticed that two of the clue areas were areas that you just would not walk around as an adult male with a phone/camera in your hand but maybe this is just a UK thing! We got so frustrated after 75% in being unable to find yet another item that we just gave up I'm afraid. We are both intelligent and do lots of puzzles and puzzle games but the clues were just too ambiguous for us - we probably aren't as clever as we thought :) The app worked well but it did constantly ask for the order number to login each time it lost focus (such as taking a photo) which was annoying. Would recommend you write it down or remember it so save having to find it in your email every 10 minutes. Also, the idea of giving you an indication when you are in the general area was great but please allow the users to change that sound as the one provided was pretty cringeworthy! It would have been good for us to be able to see what we were meant to be looking for after we gave up on a clue. There were still a few we had no idea about even after spending 10 minutes searching around the given area. So in essence, wanted to love it as it seemed a great idea, but it just didn't work for us. Obviously we are the outliers as other reviews are extremely positive. YMMV.

We regularly check the clues and directions to make sure that they are user-friendly and appropriate, and there is also the map you can use if you get lost. We're also in the process of adding more photos to the answer explanations - something you suggested would have been helpful. In response to your comment about areas that you wouldn't walk around as a male with a camera, we're assuming that you're referring to the clues near children's play areas. We have thought a lot about this but our view is that it isn't a problem because the clues don't require you to take any photos in the area.
