It was a little tricky getting it to start. I struggle a little with tech. It was nice to visit these places with an audio history and to go at our own pace. The Jerry Lee Lewis place is just a building. No business is currently operating there.
We got to the meeting point on Beale Street at BB Kings Club, thinking someone would be there to get us on our way.NO ONE WAS THERE. The staff out front was clueless. Okay, I thought there some instructions for a self guided AUDIO tour that we just needed to connect our phones to. NOT SO . There was NOTHING THERE NO PEOPLE NO INSTRUCTIONS. THIS WAS THE WORST Experience IVE EVER HAD WITH VIATOR. And I’ve used them quite a bit. I would expect nothing less than a full refund for an experience we NEVER received. The young girl out front of BB’s suggested we were being scammed. I actually defended the company Viator. This experience was poorly administered and we ended up wandering about on our own with NO clue as to the history of many of the locations on the street.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry there was confusion when you arrived at the meeting point. This experience is a self-guided tour, so there is not an in-person guide stationed at B.B. King’s or along the route. Access instructions are provided through the booking details, and the tour is designed for guests to follow independently from their mobile device. When we became aware that you were having difficulty accessing the tour, we provided the access information and code so you could begin. We regret that the self-guided format was not clear to you at the time of arrival, and we are reviewing our instructions to make the access steps even easier for future guests to locate. We appreciate the feedback and are sorry this was not the experience you expected.
We did this tour recently and really enjoyed it. The audio narration made it easy to follow along without stopping to read, and the pacing felt natural as we walked. The stories and historical details brought Beale Street to life in a way we didn’t expect. A great option if you like exploring on your own time with clear guidance. Our mistake we should have read the fine print. It wasn’t an audible tour. We had to stop, navigate with gps to the location and read.
Thank you for sharing this feedback. It’s helpful. At the time of your visit, the tour was text-guided, which we clearly noted in the description, but we understand that audio is often preferred. Based on guest feedback, the tour now includes full audio narration, allowing guests to walk, listen, and explore hands-free. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope future visitors enjoy the updated format.
Flexible tour and a great way to see Memphis! We explored historic spots at our own pace, and the included Rock & Soul Museum admission was a perfect bonus at the end. Highly recommend!
This was one of the most unique tours I’ve ever done! Instead of just walking and reading plaques, the tool kept me engaged by solving fun clues that revealed new stories at each stop. The instructions were simple, and I loved that I could access everything easily on my phone. It felt like a mix between a history tour and a scavenger hunt, which made it perfect for both me and my friends. Highly recommend this experience if you want to explore Memphis in a way that’s both entertaining and memorable!
The From Ducks to Blues self-guided tour offered by Bluff City Concierge was informative, well-organized, and engaging. It made learning about Memphis history and blues culture easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend for visitors and locals alike.
