Scuba diving in Calabria, Italy

What a fantastic holiday ( 2 weeks) with this diving center. Both the dive sites and the excursions and the restaurants for the group dinners were carefully selected. Super guidance of a very diverse group of divers (technical and recreational divers) Thanks Roberta and Francesco you are top 🥰

We met Roberta at the BOOT in Düsseldorf and went to Calabria for two weeks in June - to the Megale Hellas Diving Dive Center. Quite untypically for us, we had accommodation the whole time, also through Roberta, and the goal was clear: lots of diving! It's not yet a holiday in Italy in June, so we had the town of Marinia di Gioiosa Ionica almost to ourselves. That was strange at first, but we liked it more and more. And when the town filled up towards the end of our time, it was also exciting to experience. A huge long beach, lots of bars (some of which were still closed), still very relaxed people and 1:1 diving support from Roberta and Francesco were complemented by really great trips along the coast and into the hinterland. We really enjoyed that and we dived in the Strait of Messina (Wow!). Between dives we had ice cream, followed by a short trip to a lookout point or a village in the mountains. We went on excursions with the rental car and the train and saw a lot. So: great team at the diving center, dives worth seeing, great landscape, lots of culture and nature. Speaking a little Italian doesn't hurt:)

A perfect holiday with everything in place and with truly capable and engaging people. 10 days of special diving thanks to Roberta & Francesco who pampered us and satisfied our every wish. I could list all the dives but an additional applause for the legendary Scylla.

Roberta and Francesco are much much more than just two dive instructors. I stayed 3 days with my family, I am the only diver, but thanks to their advice my family was not bored. I have made beautiful dives, impeccable organization, diving is wonderful, equipped with everything, spaces organized to perfection. In diving, the instructors are very careful to show you everything around us, during the briefing and de-briefing they give detailed explanations of flora and fauna. Excellent I would say, you could not wish for more!

Francesco and Roberta are fantastic. We returned after 3 years and we were organized nice dives. It's always a pleasure to dive with them.

Perfect Welcoming, owners and staff very kind and prepared. Accurate briefings, attention to safety before during and after diving, rental equipment in excellent condition. All this in a familiar atmosphere. To return to discover other sites.

Professionalism, availability are the elements that characterize the staff of Diving Hellas Gioiosa Jonica. The opportunity to dive both on the Ionian and Tyrrhenian coasts, in a sea and in fabulous scenery, on wrecks and on the wall, are an important added value. Made several dives during my summer holidays... all unforgettable and in total relaxation. I highly recommend making prior contacts to schedule dives. Beautiful experience, definitely to be repeated.

We returned after six years to dive in the beautiful land of Calabria and "the reference point" could only be the Diving Megale Hellas with Roberta and Francesco. Other times we stayed with them, but the pleasure of contracting them and being accompanied with professionalism, knowledge, but also friendship and serenity to discover7rediscover the beauty of the Calabrian seabed remains unchanged. The weather was not very friendly, however Roberta and Francesco managed to set up an excellent diving program on wrecks, the bottom of the strait and the beautiful seahorses of Gioiosa beach. Not to mention the suggestions for dinners and the excellent foothold of the B&B Torre dei Saraceni

We practiced for the first time a scuba dive up to 5 meters deep. It was fun but at the same time professional. We were put in a position to fully enjoy the experience as the instructors stayed by our side throughout. The underwater world is waiting to be discovered. Structure that stands out for its passion and professionalism towards this type of activity.
