Seeing St. Mark’s at night with the lights turning on one section by section (and without the crowds) was absolutely magical. We were not impressed by the tour guide though. While his knowledge and technical expertise was adequate, he kept insulting the Catholic Church, which ruined the experience for our Catholic family.
We really enjoyed our evening tour of St. Marks basilica…it was so nice being inside without the crowd and seeing the mosaics lit up in the evening light! Romy gave us such a nice tour and pointed out so many details! She did a great job! We highly recommend this tour
What a wonderful tour! It’s so beautiful inside the church and having practically to ourselves was amazing! I loved the guide Romy who was a historian and could tell us so much detail about everything in there. Seeing the crypt was incredible too. What a once in a lifetime experience! It was extremely hot so bring a fan and dress in light clothing.
Lorenzo was a fantastic guide and this experience was a great way to learn some about Venice. The ability to see inside the Basilica at night and see the ceiling lit up was beautiful. If you have the opportunity to do one excursion in Venice I would highly recommend this one.

Outstanding tour from Shannon! So informative!
This was the best tour of our several week trip through Europe, and is definitely the way to see St. Mark's! Shannon was an amazing tour guide and was both knowledgeable and personable. This tour gave us access to St Mark's Square at night after it had closed, with them opening the doors just for these tours. They turned on all the lights and we had access to all areas of the church (including the downstairs area that is not accessible at all during the day when it's open. Having the entire cathedral to ourselves with no crowds allowed Shannon to show us everything.
Nico was an amazing tour guide, you can tell he loves talking with folks, loves his job and loves to share his knowledge of history with everyone. The experience was unforgettable, you can take photos and just sit in peace, taking in the incredible beauty and history of the cathedral. Thank you again for an unforgettable experience.
