Itinerary
Arrive at the base of Civita di Bagnoregio, an ancient village perched on a crumbling volcanic plateau. Cross the dramatic pedestrian bridge that connects this isolated town to the modern world, with sweeping valley views on both sides.
Next, head into the Montepulciano countryside to visit a family-run winery. To start, sample typical local products such as pecorino, prosciutto, salame, capocollo, and bruschetta with olive oil. If time allows, you may also have the chance to explore the small cellar museum. After the tasting, sit down for a warm, rustic meal featuring handmade pici pasta with traditional aglione sauce. Pair lunch with three wines, then finish with cantucci and Vin Santo.
Continue to Pienza for 1 hour of free time in this Renaissance hill town. Walk the honey-colored streets, browse local food shops, and take in broad Val d’Orcia views that look like a painted landscape.

I would be willing to pay more for a real wine tasting.... learn how wine was made, see vineyard, eat a grape.... it was so loud and our backs were to the the lady prresenting... couldn't hear about the wines.... get some lessons from an American wine tasting and you will sell more of your amazing wine. Packing people in like sardines will get you less money than a small group 8 to 20 who would be willing to pay more. I would cancel the last chocolate stop and spend more ti.e in Vienna. Guide was amazing.... and knowledgeable. Overall good tour, just not the wine tasting part.
There are good and bad things about this tour. 1st stop and 3rd stop we're great (piazza and belvedere) the scenery of the countryside is amazing and the guide gave a lot a good history of the region. However the bus driver smelled. And the 2nd stop should not have been called a wine tasting. First they brought us down to the cellar and I was expect them to explain the process for making the wine possibly tasting a grape or actually seeing the vineyard. Instead we were headed into a cafeteria style room packed with people and you could hear the lady speaking. We did not know which wine we were tasting (4 kinds) we were told that after we tasted the wine we could ask for a glass of the one we liked. But instead many in our group asked and got nothing. At the end when the entire group complained we were brought just another tasting of the the o e we picked which was barely one swallow. Tourists would be willing to pay more for a real wine tasting....and you would probably sell more of your wine that way. The pasta and appetizer were good. But the dessert wine was bad. It would have been better to advertise a cafeteria style luch and then proceed with the views of the landscape. Winery was disappointing, they may have good wine but everyone left there not knowing anything new. The information about the doc and docg is explained by every Italian waiter that you order wine from... focus more on how you make it. Also the fourth stop to the chocolate shop felt like an appeasement for having failed at the wine tasting. I would have gathered spent more time i. Piazza. Instead of feeling rushed 1 hour is not enough when you have to make such a long line for the gelato... overall good but needs improvements and just charge more for the experience.
Great tour. Our tour guide was very informative.
The experience was perfect the landscapes we saw fantastically and at the end the food and wine were also amazing! Our guide Aubin was excellent!!!!
Wonderful trip! It was the perfect mix of history, fun and time to venture off by ourselves. Mario was a great guide and gave us many recommendations to local spots we wouldn’t have found otherwise. The trip was planned well and took the weight off my shoulders of trying to figure out transport and where to go alone
Mario was our tour guide and he was great! Very friendly and funny making our experience wonderful. Also very organized and easy to follow.
Tour guys mari was amazing she was so so so sweet and she new so much about each loction. The bus was very good and the locations are amazing. Food is a but much for the heat and the workers at the winery are very mean and pushy: they just want to sell u things but the tour can't control that tour guy did a good job keeping them in check. Overall very good
Mari is a mother figure for the group. Amazing organised woman!
Mark Entity and Marilena were both stars. I suffer from car sickness and they were both lovely people who helped me out a lot. I recommend this experience to everyone.
