Itinerary
Meet our expert local guide at Piazza San Simeone next to the fountain.
Walk through one of the most pittoresque street of Rome
Admire the oldest Market of Rome (open in the morning)
Ponte Sisto, or Sisto Bridge, is one of the most popular bridges in Rome crossing the Tiber River and connecting Rome’s historic centre with Trastevere. It offers one of the most beautiful perspectives on St. Peter’s Church and Rome’s skyline.
Walking with our guide through the streets and intricate alleys of Trastevere, you will be able to discover some of the most amazing and well-kept secrets of this city and breathe the true Roman spirit. That’s why the area is commonly referred to as “the heart of Rome”. Trastevere is a district that lies on the west side of the Tiber, south of the Vatican City. This area has kept, almost untouched, a unique authentic charm. When you wander through the streets, you will feel as if you are in a movie, set two, three or maybe more centuries ago. Here, time has left its mark in a co-existence of architectural elements belonging to different historical periods. But, that alone, cannot fully explain the magic of Trastevere. In fact, Romans consider this district a sort of “keeper” of past traditions, and love to come here to explore boutiques, emporiums and craft shops or meet friends for a fun night out.
With regard to the Fountain in Piazza Maria in Trastevere, an aura of mystery and legend still lingers around its origins. Indeed, according to tradition, this is the oldest fountain in Rome dating back to the 8th century, but the exact date of its construction is still unknown. The Fountain in Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere was also featured in a city map dating back to 1471, designed by Pietro del Massaio. In his original drawing, the fountain featured two basins, one above the other, pouring water into the basin below.
The tour ends in Piazza di San Giovanni della Malva.

Daniel was the best food tour guide we have ever had! He was born and raised locally, so we had a plethora of knowledge about both food and culture. He learned everybody’s names on the tour and was extremely funny. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better guide. We loved the street food aspect because we got to visit many places and did not get filled up on stops at the beginning.
Great way to experience local food and tour guild Daniele was very knowledgeable and entertaining! Recommend this tour as a good way to get the legs moving after a long flight
Lili was amazing! She guided us through the food tour with warmth, knowledge, and enthusiasm. Every stop felt special thanks to her thoughtful explanations and passion for local flavors. Truly a delightful and memorable experience, highly recommended.
We had the BEST time with our fantastic guide and group. We had some difficulties getting to the meeting spot on time but I was able to communicate with the tour operator and we were warmly greeted, even though we felt bad for being late. Our tour guide was easy going, knowledgeable, friendly and went above and beyond to share information. He was courteous and professional. I couldn’t say enough good things about this tour, and encourage all tourists to book this as their first tour. It helps get your oriented and our guide shared great tips to use for the rest of our vacation. He even showed us how to get back to our AirbNb once the tour was over. As for the food, we enjoyed an appetizer, pork sandwich, pizza and gelato. There was a Perfect amount of walking in between courses, and it was easy to listen and walk through thr streets without worrying about where to go, which direction to take etc. plus you get to learn history and take mini detours to see local spots that otherwise you’d miss.
Great tour, despite the heat! Did a midday tour - five stops in total. Sylvia was a knowledgable guide and added several stops to the tour of unusual landmarks. 2.5 hours about right and certainly didn’t go hungry. Recommended.
Lots of great local food options. Amelia was a wonderful host and took us to some spots just to review history. Overall great experience!
Daniele was a very kind, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. He answered all of our questions. Also, we had (accidentally) booked for only one and could fortunately book another tour on the spot. We were just with two, so we basically got a private tour. The food was tasty and plenty, so we are super content.
We had an excellent time with Giancarlo! The tour was well paced and he wove lots of history and storytelling in with all the delicious food. We enjoyed supplì, panini with homemade bread, pizza, maritozzo, and gelato.
There’s lots of walking and a decent amount of food tasting. We went in late July so the heat was a little more intense. But the tour was in the evening so it was nice. Our guide Katerina was as lovely, friendly and knowledgeable as could be. She took us walking through streets and alley ways. I highly recommend this tour for first timers in Rome.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Tour Ever! Our Trastever and Campo di Fiori Foodie walking tour was absolutely outstanding, and our guide, Flmetta made it unforgettable! Her knowledge of Roman history, cuisine, architecture, and local culture was incredible. She brought each site to life with fascinating stories, historical details, and just the right amount of humor. The timing was perfect—the golden light at sunset made every stop even more magical. Flametta was friendly, patient, and made sure everyone in the group felt included. She answered every question with enthusiasm and gave us excellent recommendations for food and exploring Rome on our own. If you’re visiting Rome, don’t miss this tour. It was the highlight of our trip and one of the best foodie guided tours we’ve ever taken anywhere in the world. Grazie mille, Flametta You helped us fall in love with the Eternal City. Highly recommended! 🇮🇹
