After a brief introduction, our friendly guide will accompany you to the skip-the-line entrance, for fast lane access. Once inside, begin your tour below ground and explore the Colosseum’s tunnels, chambers and pits. This section of the Colosseum is restricted to the public and only allows a limited number of visitors each day, so enjoy this exclusive chance to see more than most people do. Admire the lifts that brought to life Rome’s hunting games. Next you will have access to the reconstructed portion of the arena floor to hear the stories of the bloody gladiatorial battles. If you have the opportunity take the night tour it was excellent. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. We had a great experience.
The guide was truly excellent: very friendly, passionate, available, and able to answer all our questions. He had an impressive knowledge of the Colosseum. Nothing to complain about regarding this part of the tour. On the other hand, the service sold did not correspond at all to what was advertised at the time of our booking. We had paid €280 for two people for a tour advertised as a night tour with access to the arena. However, the tour finally took place at 5:00 PM, so in the middle of the day, and we never had access to the arena. The contrast is all the more significant given that the entrance ticket we were given indicated a price of only €18. I fully understand that a guided tour may have an additional cost, but the service actually provided must correspond to the one that was sold. Our disappointment therefore absolutely does not concern the guide, who was remarkable, but the organization and especially the discrepancy between the advertisement and the service actually performed.

Visite nocturne du Colisée (avec souterrains et arène) – une visite exclusive donnant accès aux tunnels, chambres, fosses et à la reconstitution de l’arène, réservée à un nombre limité de visiteurs (il s’agit d’un tarif distinct, plus élevé). D’après nos registres, votre réservation concernait la visite du soir (sans arène), qui n’inclut donc pas l’accès à l’arène. La description que vous avez citée dans votre avis correspond à l’option « avec souterrains », et non à celle que vous avez achetée. Concernant l’horaire : le créneau de 17h était celui que vous avez sélectionné lors de votre réservation. Nous comprenons que cela n’ait pas correspondu à l’idée que vous vous faisiez d’une « visite de nuit », mais nos pages produit précisent bien la différence entre nos formules « soirée » et « nocturne ». Le billet d’entrée au Colisée inclus dans votre visite a une valeur de 18 € par personne. Extremely dissatisfied in the tour and the guide. The tour guide kept using a binder of photos to talk and educate about the Colosseum rather than guiding the group through the actual venue. He spent a good 45 minutes keeping the group away from any viewing sites going through his binder and quizzing the group on facts about the history of the Colosseum. Then we weren’t able only taken to 2 viewing points giving us 5 minutes to take a quick picture and then forcing the group to move on and go back to his binder for explanation. Very disappointing.

I have toured the Colosseum before, but yesterday I got to do a nighttime tour of the Colosseum, which included access to the arena floor and the underground tunnels, and it was mind blowing! Not only was the Colosseum lit up with cool ambient lighting, but getting to stand on the arena floor and explore the tunnels were mesmerizing. Well worth the tour, and we were with only one other couple. Should out to our amazing guide Elizabeth🙌 I highly recommend this tour.

Overall it was a simple easy experience. Tour at night was ideal for temperature and atmosphere . Tour guide spoke English but she was struggling a bit and not that engaging especially for the kids. I also felt a little rushed at parts where I would have liked to stop and take photos.

This tour advertised we would go to the arena floor. This was the key reason for selecting it and paying what we did. However when we got to the end the guide advised there must be confusion or a mistake by the operator as it is not included. All 3 couples on the tour were equally frustrated as it seems we were tricked. Upon requesting a refund I was given 15% back as a "gesture of good will". This is the last time I book with Viator. The actual guide himself was fine. Spoke fast and with a strong accent but that we could understand still.

Very good weather to tour the Colosseum! All the other tours lasted too long. This one was simple, practical, and not repetitive. Our guide was Milan, very attentive, Knowledgeable and answered all our questions.

As others said its a scam. Its not at night. Its not private. You do not go the arena floor or underground. You just overpay for standard access. There's still thousands of people there in broad daylight. I could tell by the guides face when I said something that it happens all the time. Viator did a partial refund. Its not about the money. You took something that I was providing for my family and clearly do it every day to other families.

Well, it's summer, so it is not nighttime at 5pm. Colosseum closes at 6. There isn't enough time to get the full experience. Meeting time was 445. Guide didn't show up until 530. Other tours offer Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Forum for way less money. Communication started out good but then messages did not get communicated. 2 of us couldn't make it due to illness and the 2 that made it were rushed. They were the 2 most excited for the tour. Such a huge disappointment.
