The Pantheon, from the ancient greek Pantheion, the "temple of all the gods", is the best preserved ancient building in Rome. Built in the 3rd decade of the 2nd Century AD under the reign of the emperor Adrian (who allegedly designed it) on the site of an earlier temple, it became a Catholic church since the beginning of the 7th century. It is still in use today.
It is one of the most beautiful hills in Rome, offering one of the best views of the city.
We will drive and stop at the top of the Spanish Steps (Trinità dei Monti), which are located in the heart of the city.

We were thrilled with our tour with Andrea. His knowledge of the history of Rome made for a very exciting evening. He was also very considerate in stopping for pictures and short walks. Being our first night in Rome, it made the next day’s tour even better. Because we had a little background knowledge of the area.
Andrea was an excellent tour guide. He picked us up promptly and provided a memorable tour of Rome. He was flexible to be sure we saw all the interesting sights. He clearly takes pride in his city and loves to share that knowledge with others. This was the perfect way to end our stay on Rome. Thanks Andrea!
