Ridge Ride 2-Hour Horseback Trail Ride in Kananaskis

This was definitely manageable for someone who has never ridden a horse before! There are inclines and declines along the way, but that was part of the fun. We did have rain the whole time so not the best views, though I bet it would be beautiful. Regardless, they had long raincoats for us to borrow, explained the horseback riding well, and it was a lovely activity!

Our tour was great BUT it was an extremely narrow, rocky, muddy and rough trail. If you’re a first time horse rider, I would not recommend this trail. I have not been on a horse in 20 years, and if I had known that the trail was going to be this rough, I probably would’ve chosen an easier one somewhere else. Like most other comments here, I could not hear anything since I was all the way in the back. I Would suggest that management come up with some sort of communications device so people in the back can hear. The trails were very narrow and very steep going up and down, which was quite nerve-racking. I did enjoy the first hour to be honest, but after that it got pretty harrowing. Not sure what’s going on with the older lady at the front desk, but she was a little bit on the rude side… not terribly friendly, and seem to be annoyed. The tour guide was very happy, friendly and helpful, as well as all the female tour operators/cowgirls. Enjoy the beautiful scenery overall. Would have just chosen an easier trail if one was available.

Trail ride & Steak lunch Super great riding experience through the beautiful landscape. Our trail ride guide Justina took very good care of us and we received a lot of information about the ranch, the landscape, and the horses. After the horseback riding excursion, we had a super steak lunch including drinks like coffee, tea, iced tea, and water, as well as apple or strawberry pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. All in all a super nice experience which I can only recommend.

Incredible, authentic experience. You won't be disappointed. Professional set up, excellent guide, great tour with stunning scenery obviously! Horses beautifully looked after. You won't regret it. Get the lunch too. The burger was amazing!

The horses were wonderful and so easy to ride. Our guide did a great job of moving us through the beautiful mountains and woods. The photos/views at the top are incredible. We did the 2 hour ride and it was perfect for us who don't ride often.

We had an amazing time at Boundary Ranch celebrating my fiancé's birthday a little early with the 2-hour Ridge Trail horseback ride and steak lunch. Our group of four loved every minute! The scenery in Kananaskis was breathtaking, and our cheerful Ukrainian guide made the ride even more enjoyable by sharing interesting facts about the area and the horses throughout the tour. Before the ride, we explored the grounds, visited the outside of Guinn's Museum, and even tried our hand at roping a bull with a lasso. We also enjoyed a delicious steak lunch in the beautiful dining room, surrounded by impressive wildlife displays, followed by a cold beer on the patio. This was much more than a horseback ride; it was an authentic Alberta ranch experience with wonderful staff, beautiful horses, incredible mountain views, and great food. Afterwards, we enjoyed cold beers on the patio. We highly recommend Boundary Ranch to anyone visiting Kananaskis and would happily return to try another one of their multiple adventures offered ! 🤠🐴🏔️🍺

I'm a retired widow from Florida and brought my two horse loving granddaughters to Alberta, Canada. We did a week's worth activities. This was the last one before we left to go home and saved the best for last. Our guide was Jocelyn who was very personable, explained where we were the different mountains landscapes animals we might or might not see. She took amazing pictures when we got up to a plateau area of us on the horses with the mountains behind us. Also a fun part, taking selfies with horses which the girls, ages 12 and 14 loved. A bonus: we met a young man who was working there who went to the same high school in FL as my grandson does . . . small world.
