Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop

Description
Paella was born here in Valencia—and this hands-on cooking class teaches you the real recipe, not the tourist version. Learn to make traditional Valencian paella with meat and vegetables, the way local families have cooked it for generations. No shortcuts. Just authentic technique from Valencian chefs who grew up making it. Your experience starts at Ruzafa Market, a neighborhood gem where locals shop for fresh ingredients—far from the crowds of Central Market. Then, join our small-group workshop to master the secrets: achieving the perfect socarrat (the prized crispy rice crust), using Albufera rice from Valencia's own fields, and balancing saffron like a pro. While your paella simmers, enjoy a sangria-making workshop and sample traditional tapas. Then sit down to feast on your creation with local wine, salad, mistela, and homemade dessert.

This was a phenomenal experience! The guides were friendly, super-knowledgeable, and shared a passion for Valencian culture and food. The program was well organized, flawlessly executed and was a 100% hands-on experience. We learned a lot and truly enjoyed our afternoon. (The air conditioned kitchen was a pleasant relief from the summer heat too.)
Highly recommended, the best way to experience València paella history and cooking fun! Really well organised, easy to find the meeting spot, the guide and hosts were 10/10! Relaxing and friendly atmosphere throughout; the kitchen was well equipped and with air conditioning; I went with my 14 years old son and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Great value for money.
Lovely cooking class and dinner.
Excellent very good. Worth the money
Such an amazing experience. My family of 5 enjoyed this class a lot!!
My family and I completed our first paella cooking class at this establishment and we had the best experience! We cooked all the ingredients and it was very easy to follow along with the chefs and we had tapas and drinks a plenty. Paella and dessert were delicious! Highly recommend when you visit Valencia!
A very good expérience, smell good, good tastes and sangria. It's my greatest experience in Valencia. Je recommande
Excellent from start to finish. The guides were knowledgeable and funny, making it a memorable experience.
Very hands on and fun experience! The timing was great so we weren’t outside in the heat too long and we had amazing tapas and sangria while we practiced patience making our paella. Choose your paella carefully - they’re all delicious, but there are cooking variations for each type, so know which one you want to practice to recreate. You would easily pay more for someone else to cook the paella, but where’s the fun in that? Total experience was about 3.5 hours
so much fun! Would definitely recommend to a family!
