Discover history, culture, and flavors of Puerto Plata on a city tour lasting approx 3 hours.
Begin at Rum factory, where you’ll learn about Dominican rum and its production. Continue to Rainbow Gift Shop and Jewelry Factory to explore amber jewelry and browse local souvenirs.
Next, visit La Chocolatera to discover the chocolate-making process, followed by Emanuel Premium Cigars to learn about traditional cigar craftsmanship.
Explore colorful Umbrella Street and Pink Street, then visit Central Park and the Cathedral in the historic city center. End your tour at the Fort of San Felipe, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Transportation is provided in a private, air-conditioned van. The itinerary includes short walks between nearby attractions, so guests should be comfortable walking short distances. The cigar factory may expose visitors to tobacco smoke; guests may skip this stop.
If you request an earlier return to the port, we will accommodate your wishes, which may shorten the tour.

Old vehicle, poor A/C, and a tour that did not follow the itinerary
Disappointing tour—far shorter than advertised. Unfortunately, this was the worst tour we have ever had. Elvis’s car air conditioning was not working properly—the fan was barely noticeable, and we were extremely hot when we first got in. The vehicle was not cooled down or ready when we arrived, and it took about 30 minutes before it even felt somewhat cool, never truly cold enough for comfort. The tour also did not follow the advertised itinerary. It ended in about two hours, even though it was supposed to last about 4½ hours. We were not told that the fort was included, water was not offered until near the very end of the trip, and no soda was offered even though it was included. Rather than dropping us near each sightseeing location, he parked by a shop and had us walk from there to the different places. We were also repeatedly taken to shops, which made the experience feel more focused on shopping than sightseeing. Despite a lot of self-promotion about being an excellent tour guide, the actual service did not meet that standard. We would not book with Elvis again.

Fantastic Guardo
Our tour guide was very personable and was fantastic in assisting with my 90 year old mother. We visited all the places we wanted to see and he gave us all a history lesson.

Frank and his son were...
Frank and his son were awesome tour guides. Some how we booked the wrong day and they still made it work for us. They let us decide where we wanted to go. Went to pink street, umbrella street which you better get some empanadas there omg so good. Went to the cathedral, Amber mining place and cigar factory. I hope Frank and his son will be out drivers next time we are here.

Tour in Italian with Cristina
I met Cristina through social media; it is certainly not easy to trust someone from a distance, but she was friendly, kind, and ready to give every explanation about the tour and Puerto Plata right from the start. Her assistance began before the booking; a few days earlier, she sent us all the directions to follow to reach the meeting point with great precision, and the day of the excursion confirmed her skill. The tour was very interesting; she explained all the secrets of the place to us, offered us water, and let us taste the local liqueur! What can I say... we have a wonderful memory and recommend that anyone rely on her. Congratulations Cristina!! A hug from Francesca and Pasquale from Naples

Gerson the Great!
Gerson was a fantastic guide! He was knowledgeable, very interactive with our family of four, and an overall exceptional person for us to spend time with enjoying the culture, sites, and kindness of Puerto Plata. He was so accommodating to us…he picked us up from the Air bnb where we were staying even though the address location wasn’t initially on the pick up and drop off. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
