Fabulous history and stories that you would never know. Our guides family have been growing the Prosecco grapes since the beginning. We went through history and the management of the vineyards, walking through the tiny village and seeing the views and finally ended up at a magical vineyard where the table was made up, overlooking the water, high on the hill. We tasted very generous glasses of wine and Prosecco and enjoyed a beautiful food platter.
The Prosecco experience was a highlight of our trip. Katrin was an authentic, knowledgeable and lovely guide, who knew so much about the region, wine and created a wonderful connection for us as visitors. The experience of trying local produce, and getting a sense of a day in her life as a local wine producer was so interesting - not to mention the really nice wine tasting. At the beginning of the tasting we visitors were awkward strangers, but by the end of the evening we were all great friends.
After an extensive evening of la dolce vita, we drove a bit tired by bus from Trieste to the start of the tour. The host, Katrin, welcomed us warmly despite a small delay. With her refreshing manner and her passion for wine and history, she immediately captivated us. The short walk to the vineyard was lightened up by exciting facts about the history of the region. The tasting then started between the grapevines. We had a wonderful day and can highly recommend the tour. Thank you, Katrin!
What a find. Katrine was absolutely wonderful, knowledgable and friendly. We had the best evening learning about the local area as well as Prosecco and tasting amazing wine while overlooking the stunning view of the Adriatic while the sun set. It was a beautiful evening and one we will remember for a long time.
An amazing experience. The first part of the tour is a walk around the town with the history of the area and the wine making origins. Some stunning views along the way. The second half is in the micro winery. With platters of bread meat and cheese to sample along with the prosecco and wine. Every minute was enjoyable.
Very competent winemaker with heart and mind, atmospheric place with good products from the region; the cheeses were fantastic.
Katrin was an excellent host & owner of the Boutique Organic Winery. She does all of the work in the winery & loves the local wine making business. She told us about of the local history as she walked us through the small neighborhood of Contovello where the winery is located. We then entered her winery where she had set up a lovely table in her vineyard for appetizers & wine tasting. A great experience!
The tour was a wonderful walk through the region’s history. You can tell she really cares about her vineyard and community. Highly recommended for everyone. One thing of note. Yes the start point for the tour is a picnic table in a park. It is easy to locate.
So much fun. Katrin could not have been more warm and welcoming. Her love of wine and food was evident. And we learned so much about the history of region and makes its wines so special. The location for the wine tasting was heavenly and the food was paired to perfection. 100/10 do not miss this experience.
Wonderful host (Katrin) led us on a walking tour through the village, giving knowledge about the region and wine making. She allowed for plenty of photos opportunities. Then a fabulous feast on fresh baked bread, meat and cheese which were delicious. A sample of wines with explanation before viewing the wine making facilities. Well worth the money, fabulous experience.
