The city is known for the Trulli, an example of rural Apulian architecture which are still presents and inhabited today. Enjoy the panoramic view on Rione Aia Piccola and the infinite expanses of conical roofs. Entering in a trullo is like living in a dream-world… The roofs of the trulli are hand-painted with different symbols (ornamental, magic, pagan, Christian or primitive). They were made with lime and all have a specific function such as the protection of the family, fighting the evil eye or praying divinities for a good harvest.
