Alan was most punctual & a compendium on the country Italia. He was well versed in all subject matter related to Tivoli & the surrounding areas. Most pleasant & talkative. He made an excellent lunch suggestion & truly made the excursion exceptional. Unfortunately when I arrived at The Tivoli d’Este Villa Garden tours; none of the 500 fountains were in operation for the specific day. That’s neither Alan nor Trip Advisors fault.
This was a great personalized tour. Alan knows a lot of history and was very accommodating and sociable. Time do also do your own thing
Our guide, Alan, picked us up at the hotel a few minutes before our scheduled time. As we left Rome to head east on the Autostrade he provided an overview of what to expect. He described the history of the sights in Rome and then the history of Tivoli Gardens, which was created in mid 16th century. We got to spend a couple of hours at the Garden — which is a must see. Then Alan took us into the town of Tivoli and we walked around the Temple of Sybil, which Alan described. We had a wonderful lunch at the Sebilla restaurant. We headed back to Rome and drove around the Pyramide and up to the top of the highest point of the hill overlooking Rome. All in all, a wonderful day. Alan is an excellent guide.
Great experience with Valeria and driver (sorry forgot the name). Got picked up promptly, had a good laugh during the trip, fantastic lunch sport recommendation and Villa D'este was great. Would recommend.
Excellent trip, knowledgeable driver. Had a wonderful dinner/lunch at the temples. The fountains were very beautiful. I would only advise to see if you could find out if they will be in operation when you go to visit. After being in Rome for a few days, it was nice to get away from the hustle of the city.
Tivoli gardens was so amazing. The views were beautiful and our tour guide Alan was very friendly and knowledgable. I highly recommend this tour
Barbara was fabulous and the tour was beautiful! What a gorgeous place, and a break from the city. It was breathtaking! Highly recommend!!!
Barbara and Alan were great! Barbara took such great care of us, explained so many aspects and helped us make the most of this beautiful experience! It’s so worth visiting, beautiful scenery, the fountains are exquisite and it’s great to get out of the city and see the countryside. A huge thank you to Barbara for such a lovely tour! I highly recommend them!
We spent the day with Alan and had a wonderful tour. We started at the Baths of Caracalla, the visited Villa D’Este, had a wonderful lunch beside the Temple of Sybil, and finished at Hadrian’s Villa. Alan is knowledgeable and full of information about each stop. We saw sights we would not have seen and had a lovely time. I highly recommend a tour with Alan.
We had a stellar day with Barbara and Fabio. They were very knowledgeable about Tivoli and Rome but what made them extra special was how they made sure all of our needs were met. Our well being was their genuine priority. They went out of their way to take care of us. When we come back to Rome we will definitely contact Fabio and Barbara! Touring with them was one of the top highlights of our Italian Sojurn.
