St. Peter's Dome and beyond!

Pamen was a wonderful guide. She went at an appropriate pace for the varying needs of our family (ages ranging from 7 to 75) and was incredibly thoughtful and sensitive in how, when, and where we took breaks. The three adults in our group had been to St. Peter's before but I can safely say we each learned so much and were so impacted by the sheer grandeur of it. The views from the top of the Dome are spectacular. I could see the Pieta 100,000 times and it would still take my breath away.

Perfect morning in St Peter's

Our tour guide, Giulia, is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She had the foresight to do the dome climb first before the heat of the day and crowds. It was hard to say goodbye. We wanted to take her to lunch! Highly recommend this tour.

Amazing private tour with my family of four to Saint Peter’s Basilica, Dome Climb and Papal Tombs.

Our tour with Constanza was excellent. She extremely knowledgeable, kind and pleasant to be with as we learned all about St. Peter’s Basilica. She stopped and took several pictures of my family and was engaging to my 5 and 11 year olds. It was a lovely time and we would easily recommend Livtours and Constanza to all!

Grossartige Erfahrung im Vatikan

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable experience with Fabrizio – far beyond a standard tour I booked a private St. Peter’s Basilica, Dome Climb and Papal Tombs tour with LivTours for myself, my partner Matthias and my daughters Klara and Alina. It turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip to Rome. From the very beginning, Fabrizio was exceptional. Although the entrance queue was much longer than expected and cost us additional time, he never appeared rushed or impatient. Instead, he used every minute constructively, gradually introducing the history of the Vatican, St. Peter’s Basilica and the city of Rome itself while we were waiting. What impressed us most was his remarkable ability to adapt the tour to his guests. Fabrizio is clearly extraordinarily knowledgeable about art history, architecture, religion, politics and European history, but he never lectures. He listens, engages and builds a genuine conversation. As the tour progressed, discussions naturally evolved from the Basilica itself to Renaissance art, Michelangelo, Raphael, the Reformation, the role of the Papacy in European history, the history of Rome and even contemporary developments within the Vatican. Every question was answered thoughtfully, intelligently and with great balance. What truly set Fabrizio apart was his ability to keep the experience both intellectually rich and wonderfully enjoyable. He has a natural talent for mixing historical insight with well-chosen anecdotes, subtle humour and memorable stories. The result was a tour that felt engaging and energetic throughout. The pace was perfect: never overwhelming, never superficial, and always responsive to the interests of the group. The Dome climb was spectacular, but what made it special was Fabrizio’s ability to bring the view to life. Looking out over Rome, history suddenly became tangible. Originally, we had booked a tour of roughly two and a half hours. In reality, Fabrizio spent almost four hours with us. At no point did we feel that he was watching the clock. His enthusiasm, generosity and genuine passion for the subject matter were obvious throughout. What made this experience truly exceptional was that it felt less like a guided tour and more like spending an afternoon with an exceptionally knowledgeable friend who loves Rome and enjoys sharing its history, culture and significance. Both of my daughters, aged 17 and 21, were fully engaged throughout the entire experience, which says a great deal. Fabrizio managed to create a conversation that appealed equally to adults and young people, history enthusiasts and first-time visitors alike. One thing we particularly appreciated was that the experience became highly interactive. The more questions we asked and the more we shared our own interests in history, art and European culture, the richer the discussion became. Fabrizio has the rare ability to meet guests at their level and turn a tour into a genuine exchange of ideas. We have taken many guided tours around the world. This was unquestionably among the very best. Thank you, Fabrizio, for your knowledge, your patience, your humour and your generosity with your time. You transformed a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica into an unforgettable intellectual, cultural and human experience. We cannot recommend Fabrizio and LivTours highly enough. With sincere gratitude, Anne, Klara, Alina & Matthias

Michela absolutely made the vacation!

When we booked our tour, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I assumed it would feel rushed, crowded, and maybe even a little stressful trying to keep up with everything. I could not have been more wrong. From the moment we met Michela, she made us feel comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely cared for. Her kindness, warmth, and passion for what she does completely changed the experience for my wife and me. What could have easily been a hectic day turned into something smooth, relaxing, engaging, and unforgettable. Michela has an incredible way of making history, culture, and the entire experience come alive while still making you feel like you’re exploring with a friend rather than just being led through a tour. She was patient, thoughtful, informative, and always made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. This was honestly one of the best tour experiences I have ever had anywhere. My wife and I left feeling grateful, inspired, and amazed by everything we saw and learned. That is entirely because of Michela and the care she puts into what she does. I truly cannot recommend her enough. If you get the chance to tour with Michela, consider yourself lucky. She turned what I expected to be “just another tour” into one of the highlights of our trip and a memory we’ll never forget. Thank you so much, Michela!!!

Wonderful detailed tour of St. Peter’s Basilica!

The tour was very informative starting in St. Peter’s square and proceeding into the Basilica, climbing up to the dome and descending into the floor with the papal tombs. We highly recommend it as we got one on one attention from our guide who was very knowledgeable and even asked an Italian priest to bless us which was beautiful. She did not rush us and the tour was longer than advertised it because there is so much to see and learn.
