Itinerary
You will be picked up in your hotel at 08:00 am, then we will drive for about 3 hours towards the trail head where we will start our hiking adventure towards the Rainbow Mountain. We will reach the mountain once everyone has gone so we will have the whole mountain only for us. Afterwards, we will hike down to the parking lot and drive to a beautiful place to enjoy a delicius picnic lunch in our exclusive place with unique views. After the lunch experience, we will drive back to Cusco and drop you off in your hotel.

Both Alex (the Driver) and Alex (the Guide) were absolutely fantastic! Alex our guide spoke great English and communicated everything effectively and clearly. He also went out of his way to help up at almost every point of the trip - he provided us with oxygen and medicine to help with altitude sickness. Additionally, my family and I accidentally hiked up too high and Alex made 3 individual trips up and down the mountain to help us down! Overall, a great experience and would absolutely recommend Alex and Alex for anyone looking for a tour guide/tour group to Rainbow Mountain!
We had the best time visiting Rainbow Mountain with Elis and Marco! We had quite a crazy weather day going up to the mountain and Elis made it so much fun despite the elements. We learned so much about the Quechua culture, the Cusco culture and the mountain. Elis was so knowledgeable and Marco got us up the mountain safely! Lunch also was great as part of our tour. tupananchiskama!!
John was an amazing guide who provided excellent historical and cultural context to our trip. He also ensured that our journey to Rainbow mountain was smooth and that we were taken care of. Alex helped us reach the destination safely (he was essential to this trip). We were never rushed, got plenty of time to enjoy the hike and take pictures. John was incredibly helpful in finding us the right angles to beautifully capture Rainbow Mountain. Leaving at 0800 AM was definitely the right choice for us as it was less crowded.
The Rainbow mountain tour organized by Peru Private Tours (I booked via Viator), was one of the best experiences in the full trip. The company was very trustworthy, they sent all information in a timely manner and got us “Alex” - the guide, who we cannot appreciate enough. Alex helped us each step of the way, and went above and beyond when one mber of the family was stuck at the peak. Cannot thank Alex and Peru Private Tours enough. In fact, after experiencing 4 tours in total, I would go one step further and recommend Peru Private Tours company for any tour they offer. The level of service and experience they provide is just superb and better than most other tour companies. The cost may be a a little higher, but if you want better experience and no-headache/ stress/ anxiety, book with them. You will thank me later.

Everything about the trip was fantastic. Peru Private Tours picked us up on time and got us back to the hotel safely. The drive was long but there were plenty of sights to see and they provided a great lunch after hiking Rainbow Mountain. They provided excellent care for my wife when she showed signs of hypoxia. Our visit to Vinicunca was a great experience. We were picked up directly at the hotel, and were lucky enough to have the entire van to ourselves for the duration of the tour. Despite a road being blocked on the drive to Rainbow mountain, our driver Alex and guide Elis were extremely helpful and resourceful in getting us there. We always felt safe on the mountain roads, and we also had a very good included lunch and nice snacks as well as water. Once we got there, we were able to take horses up most of the way and from then on we walked. Though we didn’t need it, oxygen tanks were available just in case. Along the way Elis explained to us the culture and significance of the region and certain landmarks. Elis also let us borrow very nice ponchos to take photos. Vinicunca is a beautiful place, and it is worth visiting. It was a great chance to support a local company. Thanks to Alex and Elis!
