One ATV broke down, but recovery was fast

We had a small problem on the Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour—one of our ATVs stopped working about 20 minutes into the ride. The guide radioed immediately, and a replacement ATV arrived within 15 minutes. We lost almost no time. The scenery was so incredible that we forgot about the glitch. Bring extra layers because it gets windy at the top. Would book again despite the hiccup.

Beautiful but exhausting for grandparents

We booked the private day trip so we could go at our own pace. That worked well the guide let my parents rest on benches whenever needed. However, even with a private van, Machu Picchu itself involves a lot of walking on uneven stone steps. My parents managed, but they were very tired afterward. The guide was kind and carried their water bottles. Great service, just know your physical limits.

Private tour meant no waiting in long lines

At my age, standing in long ticket lines is painful. That’s why I booked the Machu Picchu Private Day Trip. The guide handled absolutely everything bus tickets, entry passes, even bathroom stops. We walked right past dozens of people waiting. He also spoke slowly and clearly so I could understand his English. The train ride was comfortable. If you have mobility issues or just hate queues, this tour is for you.

Don't hike ride the ATV instead

None of us are serious hikers, but we all wanted to see Rainbow Mountain. This ATV tour was the perfect solution. You ride about 80% of the way up, then walk only 15 minutes to a stunning viewpoint. The machines were in good condition, and helmets were provided. The dusty trails made us look like coal miners afterward, but that’s part of the fun. Our guide even brought coca leaves for altitude sickness. Brilliant.

Romantic and educational perfect combo

The 2-day Machu Picchu & Sacred Valley tour was a wonderful mix of romance and history. We loved wandering the Ollantaytambo ruins at sunset with almost no other tourists around. The hotel they booked for us was charming, with heated blankets and a great breakfast. Day two at Machu Picchu felt a little crowded, but our guide knew exactly where to stand for quiet moments. Highly recommend for couples who want more than just a photo op.

Solo traveler's dream safe, seamless, and spectacular

I was nervous about booking a private tour as a solo female traveler, but this company exceeded all expectations. The driver and guide were professional, respectful, and fun. They adjusted the pace to my interests I wanted extra time at the Sun Gate and less time at the souvenir market. No pressure to buy anything. I felt completely safe the entire day. Machu Picchu is magical, and seeing it this way made it even better.

Adventure with friends.

Thanks to Salkantay Travel Peru, 100% recommended, who helped us with the entire experience on Rainbow Mountain. They had everything planned in case someone had altitude sickness, which was helpful for a friend who had that issue. In addition to all the explanations and recommendations they gave us, which were very helpful during that visit.

Amazing adventure in the Mountain of Colors

We did this tour in February as a couple and it was a spectacular experience. Driving ATVs through the Andean landscapes was a lot of fun and a different way to get to the Mountain of Colors without a long walk. The views were stunning and everything was very well organized. We definitely recommend it for those looking for adventure and unique landscapes. 🏔️
