Itinerary

5 min

Guests will be able to see the White House, either from afar, up close, or both.

5 min

This awe-inspiring obelisk, soaring at 555 feet, is the world's tallest stone structure and a tribute to the nation's first president, George Washington. As you circle its base, absorb the significance of the monument, which has stood tall, witnessing the evolution of a nation over centuries. From this central vantage point, the entirety of the National Mall stretches out before you, placing you in the midst of D.C.'s historical tapestry. Marvel at the Washington Monument's grandeur and to absorb the palpable history that permeates every corner of this incredible city. We do not go inside, but view from outside at a distance.

5 min

After viewing the memorial from afar, sightseers are invited to see the memorial themselves, up close.

7 min

Stand in the presence of greatness at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial along the Tidal Basin. This powerful 4-acre tribute features the stunning 30-foot Stone of Hope sculpture, depicting Dr. King emerging from the Mountain of Despair. Walk past the Inscription Wall, where 14 of his most inspiring quotes are carved in stone, offering timeless wisdom about justice and equality. Surrounded by cherry trees and steps from the National Mall, this sacred space invites reflection on King's legacy and the ongoing pursuit of civil rights.

5 min

Experience one of Washington's most moving memorials, honoring the 1.8 million Americans who served in the Korean War. Located near the Lincoln Memorial, this powerful tribute features 19 stainless steel statues of soldiers on patrol, their expressions haunting and lifelike. As you walk alongside them through juniper bushes, you'll see over 2,500 photographic images etched into a granite wall, depicting support personnel who served during the conflict. The inscription reads: "Freedom is not free." Visit at night when dramatic lighting transforms the memorial into an unforgettable experience of sacrifice and service.

5 min

At the Lincoln Memorial, be prepared to be mesmerized. This grand edifice is a tribute to Abraham Lincoln, the 16th U.S. President, and is an emblem of the nation's enduring reverence for him. Admire the imposing 19-foot statue of a seated Lincoln, and let the inscriptions of his speeches on the walls transport you to a pivotal era in America's past. Depending on our pace and your preferences, we may also have the opportunity to pay our respects at the hauntingly beautiful Korean War Memorial and the solemn Vietnam Memorial Wall. Both serve as poignant reminders of the sacrifices made for freedom and democracy. Join us on this intimate journey through the heart of DC, and let the stories of these monuments resonate with you.

5 min

Visit America's most visited memorial, a profound tribute to those who served in the Vietnam War. The iconic black granite wall stretches 246 feet, inscribed with over 58,000 names of service members killed or missing in action. As you walk along the reflective surface, you'll see your own image merge with the names—a powerful reminder of the war's impact on all Americans. Nearby, the Three Servicemen statue and the Vietnam Women's Memorial honor those who served. This somber, contemplative space has become a place of healing, where visitors leave mementos and pay respects to the fallen.

5 min

Discover one of Washington's most charming memorials, featuring a 12-foot bronze statue of Albert Einstein seated casually on a granite bench. Located near the National Mall, this beloved tribute captures the genius physicist in a relaxed pose, holding papers with his mathematical equations. The statue sits on a platform embedded with over 2,700 metal studs representing stars and planets, creating a celestial map. Visitors love climbing onto Einstein's lap for photos—it's one of DC's most interactive monuments. Perfect for families and science enthusiasts, this whimsical memorial celebrates the man who changed our understanding of the universe.

5 min

Step into history at this unique memorial honoring the 56 signers the Declaration of Independence. Located in Constitution Gardens near the National Mall, this intimate tribute features 56 granite blocks arranged in a semicircle, each inscribed with a signer's signature, profession, and home. As you walk among the stones, you'll discover the diverse backgrounds of these founding fathers—from merchants to farmers to lawyers—who risked everything for American independence. Set on a peaceful island surrounded by water, this often-overlooked gem offers a quiet moment to reflect on the courage it took to birth a nation.

Great tour with Barry

We had an amazing time with Barry. We did the pedicab with our two young boys and he was kind, welcoming, and fun. He was the perfect balance of educational and comedic, keeping all of interested. He was able to customize the tour to what we wanted to see and his nuggets if information were gold. We can’t imagine touring any other way, and would recommend Barry in particular.

Awesome tour for the whole family

This tour was the highlight of the trip for all three kids (ages 5, 8, 10). Barry was so funny, kept the tour enriching and enlightening and interesting for them and even gave them little gifts to remember him by. They talk about the tour and Barry by name and called it one of their top three favorite things about our trip to DC. I highly recommend doing this on the first day you arrive. It gave us a good sense of where everything was and we could return to some points of interest throughout our stay.

Operator response

Thank you for this wonderful review, Lindsey! I loved your three kids — keeping differing ages all engaged and entertained was such a blast! Hearing that they still talk about the tour by name and rank it in their top three favorite things means so much to me. Your recommendation about doing this on the first day is really helpful for other families – it's a great way to orient yourself and figure out what you want to explore more deeply later. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience!

Highlight of our DC visit!

Our family's tour with Barry was the highlight of our visit to DC. Even from the planning stages, Barry was super responsive and helpful in figuring out the best mode of transportation for us (traveling with two kids under 10). The tour itself was informative, fun, and flexible to deal with the cold temp, the wishes of our kids, etc. Barry included small souvenir gifts along the way to keep their stamina and we saw an incredible amount of monuments in a short time without exhausting our kids with walking. Highly recommend!

Operator response

Thank you for this wonderful review! I loved working with your family from the planning stages through the tour itself – figuring out the right setup for your two young kids made all the difference. I'm so glad we could stay flexible with the cold temps and keep everyone comfortable and engaged. Your kids were fantastic, and those little souvenirs seemed to help keep their energy up! Your recommendation means a lot and will help other families with young children understand how we can make it work. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience!

Our Amazing DC Tour

We visited major sites like the Capitol, and the White House, which were all stunning. Our guide, Barry was fantastic and the tour is So much better than a bus tour. Worth every penny for the memories made. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting DC, especially for a first-time orientation to the city. It was a perfect blend of history and beautiful sights, and we learned a lot that we wouldn't have discovered on our own.
