A great tour. Traveling to the olive oil factory we had a chance to see the beautiful countryside. Learned how the olive oil was made and had the opportunity to taste all the different kinds. Also, had the opportunity to purchase some of our favorites. Would recommend this tour.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted you enjoyed the scenic drive through the countryside and your visit to the olive oil factory. It's great to hear that you enjoyed learning about the production process, tasting the different varieties, and finding some favorites to take home. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another memorable experience in the future!
Cool learning about how they used to make olive oil along with current methods. We did get to go to Olympus with time we had which you should request
Thank you for visiting and for sharing your experience! We’re so glad you enjoyed learning about both the traditional and modern olive oil making process. We’d love to welcome you back again.
Nice day trip. Our driver was great. Took us to ancient Olympic site after olive tasting. Lunch was an opportunity to taste Greek food. Beware, if booking with friends, make sure all are on the same ticket. Every separate booking is a separate driver.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the day trip! It’s also great that you had the chance to try traditional Greek food for lunch. We appreciate your helpful note regarding bookings as well. Correct, this is a private tour! We hope to welcome you and your friends again on another adventure in Greece!
It was very interesting and the olive oils were so delicious!!! Stavros was our guide and he was the best!!! We enjoyed ourselves very much and would recommend this tour highly!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you found the tour interesting and enjoyed the olive oils so much. Stavros will be especially happy to hear your kind words — we agree, he’s fantastic! 😊 We’re so glad you had a great time, and we truly appreciate your recommendation. We hope to welcome you again on another tour soon!
The driver was friendly and polite, but did not provide any information about the local area. The tour of the olive oil factory was interesting and very informative. The luncheon was average with little explanation about the dishes provided. There was an additional charge for the beers. There were cigarette smokers close by in the Taverna which was unpleasant.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear you found the olive oil factory tour interesting and informative, and that your driver was friendly and polite. We’re sorry, however, that some aspects of the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the level of information shared during the drive and lunch, as well as the atmosphere at the taverna, are appreciated and will be carefully reviewed with our team and partners as we continually work to improve the experience for our guests. Thank you again for your honest feedback — it helps us provide better experiences in the future.
If you are looking to book this tour as a cruise shore excursion, I would not recommend it. Due to a couple of days of bad weather - winds and rain, our ship's captain notified us the evening before our tour that we may not be able to dock in Katakolo port. I immediately contacted the tour operator (6:15 PM) to let them know that we may not be able to dock the next morning and that we will not know for certain until morning. At 6:45 AM the following morning when we realized that we would not be able to dock, I again contacted the tour operator to let them know the ship could not dock and they verified my communication. I requested a refund which they refused to pay. Over the past several years as we have sailed around the globe and booked numerous tours, several times a port was canceled at the 'last minute' due to inclement weather and once even due to civil unrest. EVERY tour operator we have dealt with in the past has kindly refunded our tours knowing we were not at fault. However, this tour operator, THEOCAR, is the very first time that a tour operator has refused us a refund! They are very strict to the 24-hour cancellation clause, so beware! We also had to cancel our private tour in Valletta, Malta (due to same storm) and less that 24-hours from the tour start time, but refund was processed immediately.
Thank you for your review. We would like to clarify that your tour was canceled on the same day, only 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Unfortunately, in such cases it is impossible for us to avoid the costs already incurred, including vehicle arrangements and staff scheduling. Please note that in Greece, the 24-hour cancellation policy is strictly enforced. All bookings are registered in official online systems, where receipts and related expenses are issued accordingly, making last-minute changes very difficult to accommodate. We truly regret the situation, but this was beyond our control. As a gesture of goodwill, we would be happy to offer you, on your next visit to Greece, either a complimentary car rental or a free tour. Thank you for your understanding.
George was excellent. Loved the olive oil mill tour and the restaurant we went to after was so good and authentic Greek. Loved this tour.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you loved your tour and that George made the experience so memorable. The olive oil mill is a special place, and we’re glad you enjoyed the authentic Greek meal afterward as well. We truly appreciate you joining us and hope to welcome you back for more great experiences in the future!
Very nice, informative tour! Highly recommend Dimitri! We went to an olive oil tasting and a delicious lunch at a local tavern in Katakolo! Our driver even bought us a coffee! Very friendly and funny!
We REALLY enjoyed this tour! The olive mill tour was great. Local family that was very kind and informative. We love to cook and appreciated the process and quality of their product and we purchased many bottles. That said, the highlight was our driver, Andreas!!! He was very kind, hospitable and flexible with our schedule. The peace of mind knowing we had reliable transportation to/from our cruise terminal made this tour worth every penny. The end of our tour was at a local restaurant for lunch and it was the best food we’ve had in Greece. We would recommend this tour to everyone!
Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the olive mill experience. It’s wonderful to hear that Andreas made your day so special. He’s truly dedicated to offering warm hospitality, flexibility, and peace of mind to every guest, and he’ll be delighted to know his efforts meant so much to you. We’re also happy you loved the local lunch — there’s nothing quite like authentic Greek food to end a perfect tour! Thank you again for recommending us — we hope to welcome you back to Greece soon for more amazing experiences!
The tour was beautiful we did it for my mom’s birthday. Our driver Costas was very nice and hospitable. Very knowledgeable. We did the olive oil tour and ate delicious food at a restaurant. The weather was rainy so we could not take pictures in the mountains but all around great experience.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re delighted to hear that you chose to celebrate your mom’s birthday with us. It’s wonderful that you enjoyed the olive oil tour, the meal, and your time with Costas — he’ll be so happy to hear your kind words. We’re sorry the rain kept you from taking mountain photos, but we’re thrilled you still had a great time overall. We hope to welcome you and your family back on a sunny day for more adventures!
