Jenny was a great guide. Lots of confusion about which guide, which group. One would think that today’s tech would electronically link the guided and their customers. No specific, easily recognized place place to meet the guide. Also, very expensive compared to other tours.
Noel Doherty was a superb guide, conveying the info in a memorable, moving way. Highlight of the trip for my group. I must also commend Noel when one of our party suddenly took ill and had to leave early, he was very understanding and nice about it, even checking in with the person before they had to leave.
Excellent guide (Michael), who took us back in time, from the origins of the conflict to the peace agreement, including the Troubles. With passion, an in-depth knowledge of these painful times, which he knew well.
Super interesting tour of the bogside area by a local who grew up in the area. Very knowledgeable about the city, what happened on Sunday Bloody Sunday and what the murals means. Our guide was very open when asked questions. He also provided some good recommendations for Belfast.
Very interesting, I have really wanted information about the city's historical events for a long time! The guide was very knowledgeable 👍
The experience was made amazing because of our guide Michael Cooper. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate.
Guide: Michael was extremely knowledgeable and informative. He is a Derry local. Content of tour: Explored the "Free Derry" location and history; the various moving murals of "The Troubles;" and the streets where so many events took place. Walk: Not strenuous - good pace. About 1.5 miles of walking for about an hour and half. Well worth it!
Our guide actually lived in Derry and was in the protest area on Bloody Sunday. This enabled him to offer authentic information along with the historical insight for an extraordinary tour. He was a magnificent guide who deserves the utmost respect for his professionalism, gracious manner, and thoughtful explanations. His superior knowledge plus the many painted murals made this a phenomenal experience.
Don’t miss this tour if you visit Derry. Our guide Jenny brought us through the history of Derry in such an engaging manner . She shared her experience and her love for the city and its culture and communities made this tour one the best we have done . Thanks Jenny .
This was such an informative tour but it was sprinkled in with personal stories and facts from Michael who lived through the Troubles. The personal connection and understanding that these were real people’s everyday experiences felt deeply impactful. The tour was relatively short (distance wise) but we often stopped to talk and discuss little focal points around Derry and the bogside. The murals were stunning and I absolutely would do again
