This ended up being our favorite tour of the entire trip. Our guide, Bea, picked us up right at the port in a comfortable passenger van with cold water waiting for us. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day feel relaxed and personal. The drive through the Andalusian countryside was beautiful, with endless sunflower fields, olive groves, windmills, cattle, and even flamingos along the way. Our first stop was Medina Sidonia, a charming white village where every building is painted white. We enjoyed wandering the quiet streets, taking photos, and having a coffee in the town square. Then we visited Vejer de la Frontera, which completely stole our hearts. It reminded us of Santorini, but without the crowds and tour buses. The village is absolutely gorgeous, with winding streets, beautiful views, local shops, and a very relaxed atmosphere. On the way back to Cádiz, we crossed the impressive La Pepa Bridge and stopped for a local lunch, where we tried chicharrones and some regional seafood dishes. Back in Cádiz, we had time to explore the cathedral and climb the bell tower for incredible views over the city. This tour was the perfect mix of beautiful scenery, local culture, history, and great food. If you’re looking to get beyond the port and experience some of the most beautiful villages in southern Spain, I highly recommend this excursion.
