Cooking with Geraldine was fun and informative. I am not an adventurous eater but to my surprise the cocoyam stew with tuna was exceptional. We also enjoyed the lively conversation with her.

Enjoy a private and authentic cooking class in a local home with host Gerladine who grew up cooking and learned many of her family recipes from her grandmother. She has enjoyed cooking since then and hasn’t stopped over these years. This is a perfect experience for anyone looking to connect with local culture over food. Your cooking class will take place in a local home kitchen where Geraldine will teach you how to make 2 traditional Ghanaian dishes from their family recipes. After cooking, you will enjoy your meal together in your host's home. • Cooking lesson in a local home. • Introduction to Ghana's culture and cuisine. • 100% private activity • Experience Ghanaian hospitality in a residential Teshie neighborhood • Vegetarian options available. • If you choose the market tour grade option, your experience will include a visit to Nima market where Geraldine will introduce you to her favored vendors and together you will purchase a few ingredients for your cooking class.

Had a great experience with Geraldine. Great cooking, eating and conversation! Definitely recommend if you want to experience local food and home in Accra. We are from Seattle, USA and recommend to any travelers in this area to do something not yet in the guidebooks.
Great experience! We loved starting off at the market and shopping for all of the fresh ingredients. It’s a true hands-on class and you definitely will know how to make everything at home. We especially enjoyed visiting with and getting to know Geraldine while sharing the meal we cooked. Highly recommend! We also went home with all the leftovers!
This was a total hands-on cooling class, starting with an enjoyable time shopping for the fresh ingredients at the local market with Geraldine. We cooked the meal with her, helping to chop and prepare everything. We had a lovely time visiting with Geraldine while sharing the meal. She even sent us home with all of the leftovers! We had a choice in selecting the menu. It was a wonderful day and will always be a great, lasting memory of Ghana. Thanks Geraldine!
We had the most wonderful time with Geraldine. She welcomed us into her home and provided yummy juices for us before we started cooking. She taught us how to cook some delicious dishes while we exchanged stories and laughs. I can’t wait to see Geraldine again one day!
She was very personable. She taught me how to shop at the local market and how to make one my favorite meals. I felt like family at her home. I will definitely book her again.
We booked the market shopping to get the full experience. If you go on this activity with an open mind and you are willing to be hands on, you will have an amazing experience! I'm going back to Canada with a new recipe in hands!
Geraldine is a friendly and warm host. She is genuine, a good communicator and was eager to select a menu that we liked. The market visit was interesting and fun. She showed us various items and explained how she uses them for cooking. She also took us to a store where we could buy spices. We made Kontomire (coco yam leaf) stew, and it was delicious. Geraldine premade Nkate Cake (peanut brittle) as a sweet treat for dessert. This was greatly appreciated. We had a wonderful time with Geraldine and highly recommend this experience.
Wonderful experience!! Geraldine is an amazing cook and such a gracious host. Would definitely recommend, the meal we made for dinner was delicious, we loved learning what it takes to make amazing jollof rice and fish stew and appreciated the hands on experience! Great conversations too - Loved learning about how she found her love for cooking and what her day to day life is like. Side note: loved how she paid special attention to food safety and cleanliness.
I've done cooking classes while traveling in a few different countries, and this was truly a special experience. Geraldine is humble when she teaches, but she is masterful at her craft. She's so kind and welcoming - answering our questions, exchanging life experiences, and more. We learned to make a one-pot jollof rice with fried fish, and a Ghanaian salad. It was so so good. Not a demonstration - we all got to get in there and cook together. Highly highly recommend.
