Itinerary
Your adventure begins in central Rome, where you'll meet your tour leader and board a private, air-conditioned bus. As you settle in for the scenic drive, sit back and relax—your guide and driver will handle all the details as you journey toward the ruins of Pompeii.
Arriving at Pompeii, you'll meet your expert archaeologist guide for an in-depth tour of the ancient ruins. You and your small group of 18 people maximum will explore this once-thriving Roman city, perfectly preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You’ll walk the same streets that Romans once did in silence before the daytime crowds arrive, peeking into shops, temples, and even a brothel—each frozen in time.
After your Pompeii adventure, you’ll hop back on the bus for a scenic drive along the Amalfi Coast, widely regarded as one of the world’s most spectacular stretches of coastline, straight to Positano (tours from April through October). As a small group traveling by private mini bus, you'll save time compared to larger tour groups that need to switch to smaller vehicles to traverse the road. The views of cliffside towns, turquoise waters, and lush hillsides are beyond compare.
Explore the pastel-colored resort town perched on the cliffs that has inspired legendary writers such as Shelley, Goethe, and Steinbeck. After an introduction from your guide, with some tips on where to eat lunch and shop, you’ll have a few hours of free time to do as you please before the journey back to Rome. Please note: In the low season (November through March), most of the businesses in Positano town close, making the town rather uneventful to visit. During this time, we will visit Sorrento instead, where you'll have plenty of options for lunch and shopping.
After an unforgettable day of history, beauty, and relaxation, you’ll board for a relaxing journey back to Rome. Reflect on the stunning sights of Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, and Sorrento, all while relaxing in comfort as your guide ensures your smooth return to the city.

Very nice small semi-private tour of 15 for Positano on the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. Van was clean, comfortable, and well airconditioned for the hot humid weather. Chiara was a very knowledgeable tour leader.
Chiara was our tour guide and was very nice, friendly, and welcoming. Vincenzo, our guide in Pompeii, was extremely knowledgeable about the history and brought the ancient site to life with his explanations. We really enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it.

Cosimo was our Tour Guide and he did a great job explaining what we were seeing, etc. The meeting point was clear and we left Rome and arrived back on time. We loved our tour of Pompeii, the tour guide was great there. We had 2 hours in Positano, to walk around and have great food. It was a 4 hour drive each way, but the van was very nice, clean and air conditioned. We had 10 people in our group.
Lovely host, full of life and very knowledgeable. She was clear about logistics and I enjoyed how she’s gets everyone involved in discussions. Would recommend to anyone
Paris was the perfect host. Friendly, accommodating and provided enough information about the location and history. Sonia at Pompeii was also excellent. She had enough knowledge and showed us so much and was clear and informed. Our driver navigated hard roads with precision. He was friendly and awesome too. Would recommend this tour. It's a full day, bring lots of water and hat. You will enjoy it all. Thanks Paris and Sonia

Super fantastic full day adventure. Our guide Chiara, driver Sandro, & Vito at Pompeii were all wonderful. This is a well orchestrated program. Much respect & admiration goes to all of you at Walks + Devour. Keep up the good work.
Chiara took our family to Pompeii and to Positano. She gave lots of information and anecdotes about what we were seeing out our bus window to give us all context about what we were going to see. The minibus was great and our driver was amazing at navigating the tiny streets of Positano! Would definitely recommend!
Excellent experience. Chiara and Vito were very knowledgeable and friendly guides and Sandro was an expert driver. Highly recommend.
