- The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius requires a good level of general fitness. The walk is uphill at a 14 degree angle and takes roughly 20 minutes.

This is now on my list of most do activities when you go to Italy. With this trip you get to see Naples, explore Pompeii with a pro guide, hike a volcano, eat incredible pizza, and we even had time for a limoncello tasting. We got a very full day and then were drop right back off in Rome. Chiara was the best guide we’ve had on our trip!! Marco was also a very smooth bus driver. I get motion sickness really easy but he was such a smooth driver I had no issues. Chiara was fun, friendly, was professional. My husband and I will be talking about this part of our trip for years to come.
Marius is an excellent tour leader. He is funny and shares culture and his experience living in Rome. The tour is excellent. Pick up instruction is clear and tour company is efficient. The bus is comfortable. Pompeii is amazing, well preserved. I wish there are more time to see the exhibit. Mt Vesuvius’s view into Maple is amazing. Truly worth it to make a trip to Pompeii
We had a fabulous trip! Marius made the drive to and from Pompeii fun and informative. They have many planned restroom stops and our guide at Pompeii, Claudia, had a true passion for the site. We did this with two teenagers and highly recommended.
Even with the hot weather, Marius and Sergi made this tour an absolute highlight for us! They treated our group like family and their passion for work really shone through. Marius even took time to connect with everyone on the ride back, giving us awesome local tips and even teaching us local hand gestures. He made everything so easy and enjoyable—we couldn't have asked for a better guide!

This was an exceptionally nice tour at a very reasonable price. Extremely well organized meet up at an obvious and beautiful location with ready access to taxis. Everything was top notch and Chiara and Marco were great. Enzo did a great job leading us through Pompeii and explaining the history and archeology. Lots of views of Mount Vesuvius looming in the background of Pompeii. Then we went to a very nice restaurant and had pizza, appetizers, and a dessert. I was surprised we each got our own Pizza. Then we climbed Mount Vesuvius which was amazing. Finally we ended with sampling local snacks and drinks. They were very good about stopping for regular restroom breaks, and refreshments. A wonderful time was had by all.
Fabulous day. Errica was amazing. Informative and enthusiastic. Pompeii was just something that you have to do it was incredible. It did seem a bit rushed at times but we did get to see all the highlights. Vesuvius was well worth the steep climb. I would do it again
Excellent trip. Would have loved more time in Pompeii with our guide!! He was extremely knowledgeable and showed us the hilights. Lunch was also very good.
Amazing experience. . .except for the extreme heat. Our guide (I apologize because I neglected to write down his name) for the 2-hour tour was professional, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. If we return, I will certainly try to arrange another tour with him (City Wonders bus tour from Rome on 8/12; Pompeii tour 12-2 pm). It is difficult to comprehend Pompeii without walking amongst the ruins. Don't miss this opportunity. . . just go when it is cooler!!
